ORDINANCE NO. 277
AN ORDINANCE OF THE TOWN OF TUKWILA AMENDING SECTION 9 (1)
OF ORDINANCE NO. 239
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF TUKWILA AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That Section 9 (1) of Ordinance No. 239 reading as
follows:
"SECTION 9. PIPING INSPECTION:
(1) Inspector to be Notified for Inspection. When any work
done under a permit, issued by the Inspector, is completed and ready for
inspection, the person to whom the permit has been issued shall,
within twenty -tour (24) hours after completion of said work, notify
the Inspector that the same has been completed and is ready for
inspection, and the Inspector shall cause said work to be inspected
within a reasonable time thereafter. The Gas Company shall not
cause gas to enter the consumer's gas appliance through the meter
without the Inspector's signature of approval being evident on the
permit."
BE AND THE SAME HEREBY IS REPEALED AND REENACTED TO READ AS FOLLOWS:
"SECTION 9. PIPING INSPECTION:
(1) Inspector to be Notified for Inspection. When any work
done under a permit, issued by the Inspector, is completed and ready for
inspection, the person to whom the permit has been issued shall,
within twaanty -four (24) hours after completion of said work, notify
the Inspector that the same has been completed and is ready for
inspection, and the Inspector shall causesaid work to be inspected
within a reasonable time thereafter. When a permit is required
for any work, no person shall turn gas into piping for which a
permit is required until the work has been approved by the Inspector,
except that gas may be turned into such piping, while the gas fitter
is present, for purposes of testing and adjusting the operation of
appliances supplied by such piping. Upon completion of such
tests and adjustments the gas shall be left turned off from such
piping. For purposes of permitting emergency gas service, and
only for such emergency service, gas may be left turned into such
piping provided the installer has pressure tested such piping in
the manner set forth in the second sentence of Section 9 subsection
(2) and odtains the inspectors verbal permission to leave gas
turned into such piping pending final inspection.
(2) This ordinance shall be in full force and effect on and
after its passage, approval and legal posting as provided by law.
