At the time of application, the applicant misunderstood what should be included as the job valuation on the electrical permit application. Instead of the valuation which applied to the electrical work only the applicant provided to total valuation for the entire project. This explanation was provided to the Interim Building Official who has directed staff to adjust the fees to be based off of the valuation of the electrical work and to refund the difference. The valuation figure did not separate the electrical work from the fire alarm work, which us under a separate permit with the City of Tukwila Fire Department. The given valuation of $38,680 for the electrical part of the fire alarm work should have been a project valuation of $2,140. I apologize for my mistake and would greatly appreciate if new permit fees could be assessed given the actual electrical valuation of the fire alarm job.
