AN ORDINANCE OF THE TOWN OF TUKWILA ANNEXING PROPERTY TO
THE TOWN OF TUKWILA UNDER THE PROVISIONS OF CHAPTER 128 OF
THE SESSION LAWS CF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON FOR 1945.
WHEREAS, under the provisions of Chapter 123 of the Session
Laws of the State of Washington for 1945 a petition in writing,
asking for the annexation of certain property contiguous to the
town limits of the Town of Tukwila, hereinafter more particularly
described, has been filed with the Town Council, signed by the
owners of not -less than 75 per cent in value, according to the
assessed valuation for general taxation, of the property for which
annexation is petitioned, which petition sets forth a legal des-
cription of the property and was accompanied by plat or drawing,
outlining the boundaries of the property sought to be annexed, and
WHEREAS, the Town Council has heretofore fixed May 4, 1959, at
the hour of 8 :00 P.M., in the Council chambers in the Town Hall,
Tukwila, Washington as the time and place for public hearing upon
such petition, and a copy of said notice was published in_the• Seattle
Times, e. legal newspaper of general circulation in the Town of
Tukwila, and was posted in three public places within the territory
proposed for annexation, which notices specified the time and place
of such hearing and invited interested persons to appear and voice
approval or disapproval of the annexation, and
WHEREAS, at the time and place set for said hearing, further
information regarding the assessed valuation being desired, the Town
Council, by notion, continued the hearing to Monday, May 18, 1959, at
8:P. M., and at said meeting the Council approved the petition for
annexation and set midnight, May 23, 1959, as the effective date of
the annexation,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Town Council of Tukwila,
as follows:
SECTION 1. That pursuant the provisions of Chapter 123 of the
Session Laws of the State of Washington for 1945 the following
described property contiguous to the town limits of the Town of
Tukwila, to-wit:
Beginning at a point on the southerly edge of the right -of -way
of South 133rd Street, where it meets the westerly edge of the ri
of -way of Interurban Avenue South, thence westerly along said sou
erly edge of the right -of -way of South 133rd Street, to the point
where said southerly edge of the right-of-way of South 133rd Stre
meets the westerly edge of the right-of-way of 42nd Avenue South
(macadam road); thence northerly along said west edge of the righ
of- way of 42nd Avenue South to the point where said line meets th
westerly edge of the right-of-way of Interurban avenue South, and
then northeasterly across the street to the existing town limits
Tukwila; thence southerly along said existing Tukwila town limits
to point of beginning, all of which is contiguous to the Town of
Tukwila, County of King, State of Washington,
shall be and the same is hereby annexed to the Town of Tukwila.
SECTIQN 11. The said annexation shall be effective on and after
midnight May 23,1959, and form and after said date property shall be
subject to all the laws and ordinances of the Town of Tukwila then
and thereafter in force.
SECTION 111. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
five days from and after its passage, approval and legal publication
as provided by law.
