Trapzilla° is ideal for downtown, strip -shopping center, mall food court and other sites having limited space and strict sewer utility requirements. Trapzilla® = The Supercapacity Grease Interceptor Trapzilla° holds up to 425% more grease than conventional grease traps of the same GPM size. This provides the safety factor so important to sewer utilities and restaurant operators. Trapzilla° is easy to service, too. Your community's pumping contractor can quickly pump a Trapzilla and not interfere with your restaurant's business. Trapzilla® is a Better Choice Trapzilla's extraordinary, high -efficiency separator design enables your Trapzilla to be as efficient 30 days after being pumped as it was on day one. Trapzilla's unique horizontal and vertical baffling system prevents thermal inversion while laminarly spreading the flow for maximum separation efficiency. Thermal inversion is when the grease trap acts like a huge lava -lamp as warmer water from fresh kitchen flows exchanges with colder water inside a grease separator. It is why conventional grease separators lose efficiency as they fill with grease. Trapzilla's proprietary internal baffle design prevents thermal inversion enabling Trapzilla to have a flatter separation curve and to hold up to 425% more grease in the same size unit footprint. This is a significant advantage for space -constrained sites having to meet strict sewer usage ordinance requirements. Other Advantages Trapzilla's compact design and available options allow installation into more than 90% of Food Service Establishment facilities. You can install the Trapzilla inside in the floor, outside in the ground, between floors, above the floor and you can easily configure systems with one, two or four Trapzilla units for additional capacity. For high -volume full -service restaurant sites in tight, downtown locations designers can choose to team a high capacity Trapzilla Solids Separator ahead of a Trapzilla Grease Separator. Trapzilla units are lightweight and can be easily carried and installed by a plumber and his helper. Trapzilla fits through most commercial doorways and down most commercial facility staircases. Greasy effluent from the kitchen laminarly flows around the vertical baffle, rises upward through the horizonal baffle and becomes trapped in the grease storage area. The "cleaned" effluent flows through the outlet. The trapped grease remains segregated from the flows by means of the horizontal baffle, thus maintaining a flat separation curve. Pumping the Trapzilla is easy - the pumper removes the lid and vacuums out the grease and solids. * ECA models have built-in extension collar. Additional extension collars may be installed to meet installation depth. David.McPherson@TukwilaWA.gov 1. Apply for a Public Works permit and provide a completed Public Works permit fee estimate sheet. (For Public Works activities only including — domestic water backflow (RPPA w/HotBox), upgraded 6-inch fire backflow (DCDVA), new Storz adapter on Fire Department Connection, new tamper switch on P.I.V. 6300 Southcenter Boulevard Suite #100 • Tukwila Washington 98188 • Phone 206-431-3670 • Fax 206-431-3665 2. The City has determined that the building to be occupied by the proposed Top Pot Donuts has deficiencies on domestic water service, and fire prevention requiring the following upgrades. a) A Reduced Pressure Principle Assembly (RPPA), previously called a Reduced Pressure Backflow Assembly (RPBA), shall be installed immediately downstream of the existing 2-inch domestic water meter. Installation at another location requires approval by the Director of Public Works. The (RPPA) shall be installed in a Hot Box/Hot Rock or equal freeze protection enclosure anchored to a minimum 4" thick concrete pad. Public Works recommends, but does not require, a power supply for the freeze protection enclosure. Specify (RPPA) size, manufacturer, and model number on plans and submit a cut sheet for the proposed device. Show and label location of the new (RPPA) on a plan sheet as part of a Public Works permit. b) The existing Fire Department Connection (FDC) needs to have a Storz adapter installed. The new Locking Storz Cap is manufactured by Knox. Owner/Applicant shall contact the Tukwila Fire department at (206) 575-4404 to obtain an order form, as this must be ordered through the Fire Department office. Show and Label on a plan sheet as part of a Public Works permit. c) The existing P.I.V. needs to have a tamper switch installed. Show and Label on a plan sheet as part of a Public Works permit. The Public Works Director will withhold issuance of any Building, Plumbing, or Public Works permit for this building; until the Permit Center receives plans for installation of above items (a), (b) and (c) and a copy of the backflow test report for above items (a), (b) and (c) or a bond for design, installation and testing of subject backflows. If you opt to install you must supply the installation plans consisting of a schematic that clearly shows the location of the domestic water meter in relationship to the property line(s) and the building, size of water meters, connections to the water main, and service to the property together with a construction cost estimate to the Permit Center. RPPA installation and Fire Department Connection (FDC) upgrades will trigger a Public Works Type `C' Construction Permit which has a progressive fee. For a Type C permit, Public Works collects a base application and plan review fee ($250.00 plus 2.5% of construction cost for installation of the subject devices). An additional 2.5% of construction cost for backflow installations will be assessed at the time of permit issuance. Please address the attached comments in an itemized format with applicable revised plans, specifications, and/or other documentation. The City requires that two (2) sets of revised plan pages, specifications and/or other documentation be resubmitted with the appropriate revision block. In order to better expedite your resubmittal, a 'Revision Submittal Sheet' must accompany every resubmittal. I have enclosed one for your convenience. Corrections/revisions must be made in person and will not be accepted through the mail or by a messenger service. If you have any questions, I can be reached at 206-431-3655.
