2019 Public Safety Plan Preview
January 22, 2019
All projects
• All projects are on schedule
• Fire Station 51 and the Justice Center are currently tracking to
adjusted budget; bid procurement will determine final costs
• Bid procurement will allow better understanding of costs associated
with alternates at Fire Station 51
All projects, continued
• Fire Station 52 and Public Works programming and master plan phase
are early in design/planning; project team is very focused on staying
within budget
• Various contracts will continue to come to Council for approval that
are within the existing project budgets
• Separate consultant doing outreach to disadvantaged businesses and
on apprenticeship opportunities; will present to Council in February
Accomplishments to date:
• Siting process complete
• Mutual agreements with all affected business owners
• City owns or has agreements on all Public Safety Plan properties
• DBE and apprenticeship policy adopted by Council
• Council -approved funding plan
• Fire Station 51 designed; in permit process
• Fire Station 52 100% schematic design (SD) will be complete this week
• Justice Center designed; SEPA and land use approvals complete; building
permit application in
• Public Works master planning effort underway
