Mayor Todd led the Pledge of Allegiance and called the Special
Meeting of the Tukwila City Council to order.

MOVED BY VAN DUSEN, SECONDED BY HILL, THAT ABSENT COUNCIL MEMBERS
BE EXCUSED. MOTION CARRIED.
Mayor Todd stated Council Members had received a memorandum stating
the Acting Finance Director had withdrawn her application for the
position of Finance Director. This item would, therefore, be
removed from the agenda.
Ted Uomoto, Director of Public Works, said he had been negotiating
with various contractors and based on information received from the
contractors, his Department had set up a budget that they would like
to have approved so work can commence.
He said the cost would be $77,775; $2,250 relates to supplies
already used to prevent the bridge from falling into the river.
Don Williams, Parks and Recreation Director, explained the transfers
in the budget that would be made.
Ted Uomoto, Director of Public Works, said Budget Transfer Motion
No. 81 -01 could be reduced to $62,930 and Budget Transfer Motion
No. 81 -02 could be increased by $7,070 and the total would be
$72,250.
MOVED BY JOHANSON, SECONDED BY HILL, THAT BUDGET TRANSFER MOTION
NUMBERS 81 -01 AND 81 -02 BE APPROVED AS ADJUSTED.

Councilman Bohrer asked if the Council has to approve both of these
budget transfers at this time? Could the Council approve the
larger budget transfer and hold the smaller one?
Mayor Todd said Administration needs to have the money available if
they are going to award and sign the contract.
Councilman Johanson said the Council wants to get the work accomplished
in time for tournament play on the golf course. In order to have 18
holes of golf for play, it will be necessary to repair the bridge.
MOVED BY VAN DUSEN, SECONDED BY HILL, THAT THE PROPOSED RESOLUTION
AUTHORIZING THE CITY ADMINISTRATION TO HIRE A CONTRACTOR TO REPAIR
THE FOSTER GOLF COURSE BRIDGE BE READ BY THE CITY ATTORNEY. MOTION
CARRIED.
City Attorney Larry Hard read a resolution of the City of Tukwila,
Washington, authorizing the City Administration to hire a contractor
to repair the Foster Golf Course Bridge.
MOVED BY BOHRER, SECONDED BY JOHANSON, THAT ITEM 2 OF THE RESOLUTION
HAVE THE SUM OF $72,250 INSERTED IN THE BLANK SPACE AS THE AMOUNT
AUTHORIZED FOR THE REPAIR WORK. MOTION CARRIED.
MOVED BY HILL, SECONDED BY VAN DUSEN, THAT ITEM 1 OF THE RESOLUTION
READ: THE ADMINISTRATION IS AUTHORIZED TO HIRE THE LOWEST RESPONSIBLE
BIDDER AS DETERMINED BY THE DIRECTOR OF THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS
AS THE CONTRACTOR TO REPAIR THAT BRIDGE SPANNING THE GREEN RIVER,
WITHIN THE FOSTER GOLF COURSE. MOTION CARRIED.
MOVED BY JOHANSON, SECONDED BY HILL, THAT THE PROPOSED RESOLUTION BE
ADOPTED AS AMENDED. MOTION CARRIED.
MOVED BY HILL, SECONDED BY JOHANSON, THAT THE TUKWILA CITY COUNCIL
SPECIAL MEETING ADJOURN. MOTION CARRIED.
