Call to Order: Chair Cynthia Chesak called the meeting to order at 5:05 pm 2. Attendance: Commissioners: Cynthia Chesak, Trisha Gilmore, Noe Rodriguez, Sheila Coppola, Yuriko Rollins, Helen Enguerra Staff Liaison: Tracy Gallaway, Parks & Recreation Manager 3. Approval of Agenda: Helen Enguerra moved to accept the agenda. Trisha Gilmore seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously. 4. Approval of Minutes: Sheila Coppola moved to accept the minutes for the 1.16.19 meeting. Noe Rodriguez seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously. 5. Introduction of Guests: No guests. 6. Unfinished Business: a. 2019 workplan, budget and sub -committee assignments • It was determined that there would be no set sub -committees for 2019. Arts Commissioners will be supporting and attending AiR programs, events and activities; City of Tukwila Parks & Recreation programs, events and activities; • It was determined that there will be no Fine Arts Show this year but staff would look into the potential for adding arts elements into the Family Fest event scheduled for the fall. b. Arts Commission Vacancy — Reviewed the TAC application for Pinky Estell. Trisha Gilmore moved to recommend him to be appointed to the Tukwila Arts Commission. Sheila Coppola seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously. c. Monthly meeting day/time —The Arts Commission agreed to move the regular monthly meeting date to the 4th Wednesday of the month and adjust the time from 6-7:30pm. d. Creative Consultancy Update — Staff gave a brief overview regarding the Creative Consultancy proposal that was submitted to 4Culture for funding consideration. Staff should be informed by mid -March regarding the funding status. e. AiRs Update — Staff gave a brief overview of some of the activities that Air TIB, Olisa Enrico - Johnson, has been planning for this spring/summer including movie nights, arts hang out events, Dr. Seuss event, Women's Healing workshop, printmaking project with the schools, open mic and summer music jam sessions. 7. New Business — Tukwila Pride Festival —June 15th. There are performer and vendor opportunities due by May 14th. Event information can be found at: https://www.gaycity.org/event/tukwila- pride/ 1 8. Sub -Committee Reports a. Visual Arts: No report. b. Performing Arts: The Rainier Symphony performances scheduled for February 9th & 10th, 2019 were canceled due to inclement weather and because of facility availability will not be able to be rescheduled.
