PRESENTATIONS No presentations. II. BUSINESS AGENDA A. Status Report: Southcenter Plan Revision Process As an information only item, staff updated the Committee on the current status of the Southcenter Plan (Tukwila Urban Center Plan). This past March, Council directed staff to reduce the scope of the Plan and conduct stakeholder outreach (See Council minutes dated March 14, 2011). After review of the vision and regulations of the draft Plan with Community Development, Public Works and Fire Departments, Community Development staff is now ready to take the revised draft Plan to the Planning Commission for review. Once the Planning Commission has completed review, their recommendation to Council will be forthcoming. This item is expected to return to Council during the second quarter of 2012. INFORMATION ONLY. B. Update: Duwamish Hill Preserve As an information only item, staff updated the Committee on a parcel of land due west of the Duwamish Hill Preserve (1.9 acres) that is currently for sale. As the Hill continues to develop, it may be beneficial for the City to consider expansion opportunities when available. The City has applied for and is recommended for a $250,000 grant from King County Conservation Futures for acquisition of this property; however, the Legislature is not scheduled to approve this funding until next year. Rick Still also provided a brief overview of a curriculum day which was held at the Hill this past Saturday. The intent of curriculum day was intended to assist teachers in integrating the rich history and archeology of the Hill into their lesson plans and/or classrooms. INFORMATION ONLY. C. Parks Recreation Events Calendar As an information only item, Committee Members reviewed the Parks Recreation calendar for October through December. Committee Members complemented Parks and Recreation staff on Saturday's Touch -A- Truck event. INFORMATION ONLY. III.
