Permit Required. 1. A Tree Permit is required prior to work within the Critical Root Zone of any Significant, Exceptional or Heritage Tree or prior to the removal or destruction of any these trees within the City, unless the action is exempt from this chapter. Observed Condition: On June 25, 2018 1 observed one significant poplar tree in the process of being limbed up for the purpose of removal. This tree is located in the southeast corner of the property. A Notice and Order was posted on June 25 to cease all tree trimming and tree removal work and to obtain a Tree Permit. As of November 19, 2018, there is no Tree Permit on file, and the limbed tree is in the same condition. Corrective Action: 1. Discontinue all activities associated with tree removal prior to the issuance of an approved Tree Permit. 2. Apply for a Tree Permit by December 14, 2018. 3. With an approved Tree Permit, complete the removal of the damaged poplar tree. Removal of any additional trees must be requested on the Tree Permit application and will require mitigation. Work exempt from a building permit ...(2). One-story detached accessory structures used as tool and storage sheds, playhouses and similar uses, provided the floor area does not exceed 120 square feet, and such structure is outside of and entirely separated, as prescribed by Code, from any existing building on the premises. Observed Condition: On November 19, 2018 1 observed an abandoned canopy structure installed in the driveway. The frame is attached to the adjacent side fence, and the canopy cover is torn. The structure appears to be over 120 square feet in size and there is no permit on file for this accessory structure. Corrective Action: Remove the unpermitted structure and all resulting debris from the property.
