1. Introductions were made.
2. HSAB members discussed a variety of topics to explore and learn about in 2019. The board created a
tentative workplan for 2019, which will continue to evolve during subsequent HSAB meetings.
3. Board members shared concerns about homelessness in Tukwila. Discussions centred around best
practices, successful models in other communitiespotential implementation in Tukwila. Staff shared the
partnership between Human Services and the Community Policing Team to help those currently
experiencing homelessness in Tukwila. Staff highlighted the many different funded partner agencies who
provide shelter, food, healthcare, employment training and other services for Tukwila residents
experiencing homelessness. Staff also shared information about the internal Homeless Task Force that HS
co -facilitates with Commander Boyd.
4. Board Member and CEO of Rainier Industries David K. Traub gave the HSAB a tour of Rainier Industries.
5. Next Board meeting has been scheduled for June 13th from 2-4pm.
