PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS, the future is, to a large measure, dependent on the good health of
our families;
WHEREAS, good health can be achieved in part through good dental habits
learned early and reinforced throughout life;
WHEREAS, tooth decay is among the most prevalent diseases in the world yet
dental advances of the last century have made it highly preventable;
WHEREAS, good dental health requires a personal commitment to effective
hygiene, good nutrition and regular dental care;
WHEREAS, parents and guardians are urged to help ensure that children brush
and floss their teeth carefully, visit a dentist for preventative checkups and cleanings,
and eat a well-balanced diet;
NOW THEREFORE, I, Allan Ekberg, Mayor of the City of Tukwila, do hereby
proclaim the month of February, 2018:
National Children's Dental Health Month
in the City of Tukwila and encourage all community residents to join me in recognizing the
importance of good dental health.
