V. Business Items
• Stacey Hansen from Human Services provided an overview of programs &
services for Tukwila residents only. The Commission was informed of the
2019- 2020 funded programs as it relates to wellness (physical, behavioral,
dental, well-being), housing, food security and support for independence. In
total, Human Services funded 34 programs.
• Additional information was provided on the temporary homeless
encampments (Tent City 3). 50 campers including 1 family will stay from
September 7 through December 2, 2019. Encampments rotate between various
host properties and have managers and a code of conduct for residents.
• The State of Washington has authorized religious organizations to host
temporary encampments and limits a local governments ability to regulate
encampments. (RCW 36.01.290) for counties, (35A.21.360) for code cities,
and (35.21.915) for other cities and towns.
• City of Tukwila will coordinate logistics meetings to go over safety protocols.
City staff across departments will attend and continue to stay engaged for the
duration of the visit.

2020 Census: In -Field Address Canvassing
(IFAC) Viewer

This viewer was developed to allow users to
explore the in -Field Address Canvassing (IFAC)
workload areas. Users can see the percentage of
basic collection units (BCUs) and housing units
(HUs) in the Self -Response Type of Enumeration
Areas (TEA 1) by clicking on a County, Census
Tract, or Congressional District. Learn how to
interact with this tool by clicking the Application
Help icon in the toolbar above.
The In -Field Address Canvassing workload areas
are shown in green on the map.
The Address Canvassing operation serves two
purposes:
Deliver a complete and accurate address list
and spatial database for enumeration.
Determine the type and address
characteristics for each living quarter.
Specifically, this operation implements both in -
office and in -held methods to maintain and
update the United States Census Bureau's address
list in advance of the 2020 Census enumeration.
The Census Bureau needs the address and physical
location of each ivin quarter in the United States

Parking concerns follow-up: Library parking will be signed and will say — library
parking during library business hours only.
Parks Commission
9/11/2019 — Economic Development Plan Outreach, Parks and Recreation and
Open Space Plan facilitated an interactive work session. Acquisitions Update —
Robert Eaton briefly updated on the status of the Davies property on 116th St in
the Duwamish neighborhood, which is on the recommendation list for funding on
the CFT gran program as we as the RCO grant program. If approved, site will be
acquired in 2020.
