Mayor Todd and Council President Van Dusen presented the outgoing
Council Members with plaques of apprecation.
Mayor Todd said he knows how these Council Members feel and he
appreciates the service they have given the community. This is a
job that takes a lot of time away from the family and, in some
cases, away from the place of employment. He thanked both mem-
bers and their families.
Council President Van Dusen, in a short report to Council, said
that Reid Johanson has given many years of service to the City
and deserves appreciation and gratitude. He said that Dan Saul
was always the man to say the words that needed to be said and
noted that this would be missed. He welcomed the new Council
Members; and reported to the citizens that last year's Council
was one of the most responsible and hardest working Councils
with who he has had the privilege of working. In closing, he
thanked all the employees who have given the extra effort and
have the sense of responsibility to their jobs.
Council President Van Dusen said he has had three awards made to
outstanding citizens from the Council President and hopes that
future Council Presidents will do the same. First, went to Cris
Crumbaugh, corporate citizen, for many hours representing his
employer on matters of great importance to the development of the
City. The second award went to Karen Van Dusen representing the
spouses of all the Council people that allow the extra time to
be spent away from home. The third award will be presented at
the next regular meeting.
