Meeting Minutes

CALL TO ORDER: The meeting was called to order at 5:00 p.m.
I. PRESENTATIONS
No presentations.
II. BUSINESS AGENDA
A. Tukwila Urban Center (TUC) Pedestrian/Bicvcle Bridle: Tvve, Size and Location Studv (TSL)
Staff returned to Committee to continue the discussion of the TUC Pedestrian /Bicycle Bridge which began
at the August 15, 2011, Transportation Committee meeting.
At the August meeting, staff highlighted the project history. Tonight's meeting focused on bridge types,
options and alignments. Staff has already distributed the TSL Report to the full Council, and is seeking
direction on how to proceed with the final design. Committee members were complimentary of staff work
to date, and believe a full Council presentation and discussion is necessary to recommend a final design. The
Committee also requested additional public outreach in the form of mailings and presentations to
organizations such as the Chamber of Commerce. Staff is working on a bridge type survey /online poll that
will be available on the City website for citizen input. FORWARD TO FUTURE COW FOR COUNCIL
DISCUSSION.
III. SCATBd
The Committee reviewed and briefly discussed the September 20 meeting agenda which includes a Sound
Transit update and an I -5 Express Lane update. INFORMATION ONLY.
