SPECIAL MEETING
CALL TO ORDER
Special Meeting
September 23, 2019
In the absence of Mayor Ekberg, Council President Hougardy, Acting as Mayor Pro Tempore, called the
Special Meeting of the Tukwila City Council meeting to order at 9:29 p.m. directly following the Committee
of the Whole meeting.
ROLL CALL
Barbara Saxton, Administrative Support Coordinator, called the roll of the Council. Present in the Council
Chambers were Councilmembers Dennis Robertson, Verna Seal, Kathy Hougardy, De'Sean Quinn, Kate
Kruller, Thomas McLeod.
MOVED BY SEAL, SECONDED BY KRULLER TO EXCUSE THE ABSENCE OF COUNCILMEMBER
IDAN FROM THE MEETING. MOTION CARRIED 6-0.
CITY OFFICIALS
David Cline, City Administrator; Bruce Linton, Police Chief; Jay Wittwer, Fire Chief; Jack Pace,
Community Development Director; Minnie Dhaliwal, Planning Supervisor; Laurel Humphrey, Council
Analyst; Barbara Saxton, Administrative Support Coordinator.
CONSENT AGENDA
a. Approval of Vouchers:
MOVED BY ROBERTSON, SECONDED BY KRULLER THAT THE CONSENT AGENDA BE
APPROVED AS SUBMITTED. MOTION CARRIED 6-0.
Joe Duffie asked from the audience for a summary of Initiative 976, which was mentioned during Council
Reports at the Committee of the Whole meeting prior to this Special Meeting. The measure would put
limits on motor vehicle taxes and fees (limiting annual license fees at $30 in most cases).

9:30 p.m. UNANIMOUS CONSENSUS EXISTED TO ADJOURN THE SPECIAL MEETING.
