Dear Sign Permit Applicant,
The City of Tukwila Department of Community Development recently received your
application for a permit to install a permanent wall sign at 17115 Southcenter Pkwy for
Computer Care (permit application # S11-015). I will need more information or a modification
of your plans before a permit can be issued.
Using the Maximum Sign Area Table on the Sign Permit Application, I determined the
maximum allowable sign area to be 31.4 square feet. On your permit application, you
indicated the area of the proposed sign to be 36 square feet. I was unable to determine from
your plans how you calculated the area of the proposed sign.
Please resubmit plans for a sign that is within the maximum allowable sign area of 31.4
square feet. If do not use a simple rectangle to determine sign area, please indicate on the
plans or in writing the method you use. Only one set of plans is necessary, and you may fax
them to me at 206-431-3665 or scan them and send them as a PDF attachment. Feel free to

The City's sign code permits a variety of building mounted signs, including wall signs, signs on awnings, canopy signs and DEVELOPMENT
projecting signs. This sign permit application can be used to determine the total number of building mounted signs permitted
for your business. The application also provides the specific code standards for the common types of building mounted signs,
see TMC 19 Sign Code for details. Please note that you may not qualify for all signage types outlined in this application.
Section I- Wall or Awning Face Sian
Each public entrance is eligible for either a flush mounted wall sign or an awning face sign. In some cases an additional wall
sign maybe permitted on walls that do not have entrances, see Section 2 of this application.
Use the table below to determine the maximum permitted size' of your wall sign:
