Subject: Sign Permit #S11-049 for Applebees
Dear Sign Permit Applicant,
This notice is to inform you that your sign permit will expire on November 16, 2011. Sign permits are valid for 180 days
from the date of issuance. You are required to request a final inspection prior to the permit expiration date. You may
be granted one extension of not more than 30 days if you submit a request for extension prior to permit expiration. If
you wish to install or alter the sign after the permit expires, a new permit will be required.
Please note that in its current condition, the signage would fail an inspection, since the "Carside to go" wall sign was not
shown on your plans. To pass inspection, you must obtain a permit for this sign.
If you have any questions about the permitting process, please call 206-431-2164 and reference the permit number
listed above. Extension requests should be submitted in writing to:

Hi Jim -
This is in regards to the Applebee's signs:
It was brought to my attention today by the Planning Department Supervisor that we cannot change contractors on the
original Sign Permit (S11-049) even though the property owner sent in a letter requesting a change of contractor. The
approved plans (supplied by Design Team) can be used providing no changes are made, however a new permit does
actually need to be applied for by Signs Plus NW in order to complete the work for the sign on the south facade.
The permit fee will be $222.00. The application is attached.
Sorry for the confusion.

Jim,
I have given all the original building plans to the Senior Plans Examiner and told him what still needed to be done
(canopies, awnings, roof cap). He is going to review the building permit and see if we can just change the scope of work
to this one (if the plans show enough info for what we still need to do), or if we need a new permit and new plans. If we
do just change the scope of work, we'll just check with Kim and make sure it's ok as she pulled that permit with an
Owner Affidavit (no actual contractor).
I probably won't have any more info until tomorrow.
By the way, do you have details on the canopies? Can you email or fax to me?

We do our own electrical. Unfortunately, that will be new and need to be paid for. I'll attach the application so you can
have it filled out and ready to go when you come in. It will be issued over the counter, and we can do that when you
come in to pick up the sign permit.
Ok-I have everything squared away on the sign permit.
The Building permit stuff will take me a while to pull together. I need to talk with the Permit Coordinator and the
building official. I THINK I can just change the scope of work on the permit already issued but I'm not sure. I may need
to start all over. I'll get back to you on that.

Here'you go. Please let me know if you need any additional info.
Does Tukwila do their own electrical permits, or are they through L&I?
