I apologize for the confusion about fuel canopies. Fuel canopies do not meet the definition of canopies in the sign code, because they are not attached to a building. When the sign code was adopted in 2010, signs were no longer allowed on fuel canopies. However, the sign code was recently amended to allow signs on fuel canopies. You are now allowed one sign per canopy face, but the sign must be no larger than 5 sq ft. I will need plans or a drawing of the sign with dimensions so that I can confirm that it meets the size requirements. You can send these to me via e-mail. I also will only be able to approve the sign on one canopy face until I receive an additional permit fee. Your total fee for the 4 signs would be $888, so your balance would be $666. I apologize if this seems a bit high for the work you are doing — we have a flat fee for sign permits, but the fee is assessed on a per sign basis.
