RE: Permit No. PG 15-0067
CAPRIOTTI'S SUB SHOP

Dear Permit Holder:
In reviewing our current records, the above noted permit has not received a final inspection by the City of Tukwila Building
Division. Per the International Building Code, International Mechanical Code, Uniform Plumbing Code and/or the National Electric
Code, every permit issued by the Building Division under the provisions of these codes shall expire by limitation and become null
and void if the building or work authorized by such permit has not begun within 180 days from the issuance date of such permit, or if
the building or work authorized by such permit is suspended or abandoned at any time after the work has begun for a period of 180
days. Your permit will expire on 2/14/2016.
Based on the above, you are hereby advised to:
1) Call the City of Tukwila Inspection Request Line at 206-438-9350 to schedule for the next or final inspection. Each
inspection creates a new 180 day period, provided the inspection shows progress.
maid
2) Submit a written request for permit extension to the Permit Center at least seven(7) days before it is due to expire.
Address your extension request to the Building Official and state your reason(s) for the need to extend your permit.
The Building Code does allow the Building Official to approve one extension of up to 180 days. If it is determined that your
extension request is granted, you will be notified by mail.
In the event you do not call for an inspection and/or receive an extension prior to 2/14/2016, your permit will become null and void
and any further work on the project will require a new permit and associated fees.
Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.
Sincerely,
Y

2-Layer Grease Duct Note, This general instruction for applying 3M"' Fire Barrier Duct Wrap 615+ details a two -layer wrap installation of
Method (ASTM E 2336) 3M` Fire Barrier Duct Wrap 615+ blanket applied directly to a grease duct. To minimize waste, the 3nT" Fire Barrier
Duct Wrap 615+ material should be rollers out tautly before measuring. The first layer of 3M'" Fire Barrier Duct
Wrap 615+ blanket is wrapped around the peritnctcr of the duct and is cart to a length to either butt to itself or overlap
itself not less than 3" (76.2mm). The interface between adjacent blankets forms the "longitudinal" joint. Inner layer
longitudinal joints can be tightly butted joints or they should overlap onto adjacent blankets with a min. 3" (76.2mm)
overlap. Aluminum foil or FSK tape is used to seat all cut edges of the blanket and any tears in the foil scrim, This
first layer is temporarily held in place using filament tape. The first layer does not require steel banding.
The second layer of 3M` Fire Barrier Duct Wrap 615+ is wrapped around the perimeter of thepreviously installed
first layer of 3M` Fire Barrier Duct Wrap 615+. The other layer perimeter (lateral) joints should be offset a minimum
3 (76.2mm) from the inner layer perimeter joints. The perimeterloints should be a minimum 3 (76.2mrn) overlap.
Offset the outer layer longitudinal Joints a minimum 10,5" (26.7cm) from the inner layer longitudinal joints. The
outer layer longitudinal joints should be a minimum 3" (76.2n.m) overlap. The one exception to this rule is the "Butt
Joint with Collar Method where it is permissible for the longitudinal joints to be tightly butted and then covered with
a minimum 6" wide collar centered over it. Tlicse are available pre -made (3M' Fire Barrier Duct Wrap 615+ Collar).
The second layer of wrap can be temporarily held in place using filament tape. The second layer of wrap requires
permanent fastening with stainless (or carbon) steel banding, or with rows of weld pins (impaling or cup -head style).

This document is an attempt to put together a complete, yet reasonably flexible layout design specifications for
Ca riotti's POS installs. Wherever possible, I have tried to provide guidelines, instead of prescribing ridged
requirements, for the contents of various design layouts and options.
An assumption is that the reader has a basic level of understanding in construction and electrical wiring. It is
required that all category 5 data cable that is pulled, be it phone or computer, will be properly terminated, tested, and
labeled for verification of common UTP network wiring; schemes following EIAIT IA 569B pairing for completer
networks.
All architectural drawings will be reviewed and annotated by the Design and Construction and. IT'.

Telephone
An instrument that converts voice and other sound signals into a form
that can be transmitted to remote locations and that receives and
reconverts waves into sound signals.
MFP
An MFP (Multi Function Product/ Printer/ Peripheral), multifunctional, all -in -one (AIO), or
Multifunction Device (MFD), is an office machine which incorporates the functionality of
multiple devices in one, so as to have a smaller footprint in a home or small business setting
(the SOHO market segment. A typical MFP may act as a combination of some or all of the
following devices:
• Printer
• Scanner
• Photocopier EXPIRED

""`• „""" ti:'°"° _ •+r networking connectors, RJ45 was originally a Telephone -
only standard. It is one of the many registered jacks, like
RJ11, another telephone standard. As a registered jack,
"`' •,,,t,,, telephone RJ45 specifies the physical male and female
connectors as well as the pin assignments of the wires in a
telephone cable.
RJ11 _

t baseboard. The standard for telephone plugs varies from country to country, though
the RJ11 "modular connector" has become by far the most common.
Ethernet CST 5E
Category 5 cable is a twisted pair high signal integrity cable type often referred to as CatS.
Most Category-5 cables are unshielded, relying on the twisted pair design for noise rejection.
Category 5 has been superseded by the Category 5e specification. This type of cable is used
in structured cabling for computer networks such as Ethernet and ATM, and is also used to
carry many other signals such as telephony and video.
Category S Patch Panel
A patch panel is a panel, typically rack mounted, that houses cable connections. One typically shorter
patch cable will plug into the front side, whereas the back holds the connection of a much longer and
more permanent cable. The assembly of hardware is arranged so that a number of circuits, usually of

the same or similar type, appear on jacks for monitoring, interconnecting, and testing circuits in a convenient,
flexible manner.
Patch panels offer the convenience of allowing technicians to quickly change the path of select signals, without the
expense of dedicated switching equipment. This was .first used by early telephone exchanges, where the telephone
switchboard (a massive array of patch panels) and a large room full of telephone operators running it was
ubiquitous.
Network Switch
goA network switch or switching hub is a computer -networking device that connects network segments.
Managed Firewall
Managed firewalls are information security systems that are constantly monitored and updated by
computer analysts. Like typical firewalls, they are software, hardware, or a combination of both designed
to prevent unauthorized access to and from a. private computer network. However, a third -party company
specializing in information security usually administers managed firewalls.
CCTV Security System
Closed-circuit television (CCTV) is the use of video cameras to transmit a signal to a specific
place, on a limited set of monitors. It differs from broadcast television in that the signal is not
openly transmitted, though it may employ point-to-point (P2P), point to multipoint, or mesh
w.irelcss links. CCTV is often used for surveillance in areas that may need monitoring; such as
banks, casinos, airports, military installations, and convenience stores.
Broadband Internet service
The term broadband refers to a telecommunications signal of greater bandwidth, in some sense,
lowthan another standard or usual signal (and the broader the band, the greater the capacity for
traffic). Different criteria for "broad" have been applied in different contexts and at different
times. Its origin is in radio systems engineering, but became popularized after McdiaOnc adopted
it as part of a marketing campaign in 1996 to sell their high-speed data access. The slogan was
"This is Broadband. This is the Way". Until today, the term has never been formally defined,
even though it is used widely and has been the subject of many policy debates, and the FCC
"National Broadband Platt".
Block 66
A 66 block (also M-Block) is a type of punch down block used to connect sets of wires in a
telephone system. 66 blocks are desigrned to terminate 22 through 26 AWG solid copper wires. The
25-pair standard non -split 66 .Block contains 50 rows; each row has four columns of clips that are
electrically bonded.
The 25-pair "Split 50" 66 Block is the industry standard for easy termination of voice cabling, and. is a
standard network termination by telephone companies —generally on commercial properties. Each row
contains four clips, but the left two clips are electrically isolated from the right two clips.
Serial Communication over Ethernet
_ In computing, a serial port is :a serial communication physical interface through which
information transfers in or out one bit at a time (contrast parallel port). Throughout most of the
" history of personal computers, data transfer through serial ports connected the computer to
devices such as terminals and various peripherals.
While such interfaces as Ethernet, FircWire, and USB all send data as a serial stream, the
term "serial port" usually identifies hardware more or less compliant to the RS-232 standard, intended to interface
with a modem or with a similar communication device.

Print of Sale (PODS) Terminal
A point -of -sale (POS) terminal is a computerized replacement for a cash register. Much more
complex than the cash registers of even just a feu" years ago, the POS system can include the
ability to record and trackcustomer orders, process credit and debit cards, connect to other
systems in a network, and manage inventory. Grncrally, a .POS terminal has as its core a personal
computer, which is provided with application -specific programs and I/O devices for the particular
environment in which it will serve. A POS system for a restaurant, for example, .is likely to have all
menu items stored in a database that can be queried for .information in a number of ways. POS
terminals are used in most industries that have a. point of sale such as a service desk, including restaurants, lodging,
ente.ttainment, and museums.
Kitchen Display System (KDS)
The Kitchen Display System is commonly referred to as the Kitchen Controller or KDS. The
KDS services the Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) and Hospitality food markets, and is also
used in Convenience Store Kitchens and Entertainment Concessions. The Kitchen Production
System is made up of the kitchen controller, kitchen monitor (flat panel or CRT), and bump
bar.
Printers (Receipt, Soup/Salad, Hot, or Cold)
The printers are fast, reliable and easy loading to quickly print receipts in the front -of -house
q and orders in the back -of -house. Whether it is thermal printers for POS receipts or impact
printers for the kitchen, the printers are fast, compact, and user friendly and easily maintained.
