The structural analysis completed by CG Engineering was inclusive of the structural elements that were affected by the addition of equipment and antennas associated with the proposed T-Mobile site modifications. Where applicable, this includes the antenna and equipment support structure and affected portions of the existing main structure. SITE DESCRIPTION The appurtenances are mounted to an existing concrete building rooftop with an overall height of 31'- 6". The antennas and RRU's shall be mounted to the existing concrete parapet wall mounts. The proposed antennas shall have a rad center of 37'-0". The Client provided us with structural calculations by Cornerstone Engineering for a previous modification dated 6/1/2012. Photos of the site and architectural plans were also provided for the proposed revisions. All geometry, member sizes, and material strengths used in our analysis were based on this information. If anything differs from the information contained in these documents, CG Engineering should be notified to revise our analysis. APPURTENANCE CONFIGURATION The structure was analyzed using the appurtenance configuration specified in the following table. All loading was provided to us from the Client. This table includes all known existing and future antennas for this site. ANALYSIS CRITERIA The parameters in the following table were used in our analysis of the structure based on its location. City of Tukwila, WA Wind Criteria Seismic Criteria Basic Wind Speed w/o Ice (3-s Gust): 110 mph Risk Category: II Sds: 0.981 Exposure: B Kzt (ASCE 7-10): 1.0 Sd1: 0.550 Notes: 1. Refer to the attached topographic profile(s) used to determine the topographic factor. 2. Parameters based on the 2012 International Building Code (IBC) and referenced standards. APPURTENANCE MOUNT/MAIN STRUCTURE ANALYSIS RESULTS Individual appurtenance mounts have been determined to be sufficient to support the proposed loads. Additionally, the existing structure has been determined to be sufficient to support the proposed appurtenance configuration. CONCLUSIONS/RECOMMENDATIONS We have determined that no upgrades to the existing structure are required for the proposed T-Mobile installation as described above in the appurtenance configuration tables. Alpha Sector Appurtenance Anchorage: The antenna shall mount to a new 3" standard pipe connected to the existing concrete parapet wall. The FRLB shall mount to the existing Unistrut mount on the existing concrete parapet wall. Attach the antenna to the pipe with the mounting hardware provided by the manufacturer and in accordance with their installation instructions. Beta and Gamma Sector Appurtenance Anchorage: The antennas shall mount to new 2" standard pipes. The 2" standard pipes should then mount to the existing 3" standard pipe mounted to the existing concrete parapet wall. The FRLB's shall mount to the existing Unistrut mount on the existing concrete parapet wall. Attach the antennas to the pipes with the mounting hardware provided by the manufacturer and in accordance with their installation instructions. CG Engineering did not perform an observation of this site to verify the accuracy of the provided structure and appurtenance data, and we should be contacted immediately if there are any discrepancies with the information stated within this report. Our analysis is based on the assumption that the structure has been properly installed and is maintained to the minimum standards required by code. We assume the structure has no known deterioration or damage that would adversely affect its capacity. A% Project: SE03563D —Fairway Center A51' & 62nd Date: November 28, 2012 Client: T-Mobile Prepared By: J. Johnson CEI No.: 12-06108 Page I I. Project Description T-Mobile telecommunications has an existing site located on the rooftop of an existing telecommunications facility located at 14240 Interurban Avenue South in Tukwila, King County, Washington. The site consists of (3) existing panel antennas mounted to steel masts attached to the concrete parapet wall. The site support equipment is located adjacent to the east side of the structure at ground level within a fenced enclosure. The structural design and analysis of the proposed T-Mobile installation is for the replacement of (3) existing panel antennas, the addition of (3) new panel antennas, (3) new steel antenna masts, (9) Remote Radiohead Units (RRU's) and (2) COVP surge suppressors that will be mounted to the steel antenna masts. The masts will be attached to the concrete parapet walls. Additionally RF transparent screened enclosures will be installed at each sector and mounted to the concrete parapet walls. The additional gravity and lateral loads of the proposed equipment will transfer from the steel mast to the concrete parapet walls to the foundation, and into the soil below. In addition, (2) COVP's will be installed at the existing equipment cabinets within the fenced enclosure. 11. Design Procedure The information in this report summarizes the requirements for construction of structural elements for the proposed design in conformance with the 2009 International Building Code (1BC) and American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE 7-05). Unless otherwise noted, all means and methods used shall be in_keeoing with good and generally accepted construction practices and all prescriptive design requirements of the 20091BC. As requested, the structural stability of the proposed loading has been evaluated for structural code compliance. The analysis derives its applied wind loads from 85 mph wind speed (37second gust) and Exposure "B°. Since soil properties are not available, seismic site class "D" was conservatively utilized for the seismic analysis per 20091BC (Section 16). Ill. Conclusions and Recommendations The proposed replacement of antennas and the addition of antennas, RRU's, COVP's to the steel masts and the screened enclosures attached to the pre -cast concrete panels in addition to the building structure are structurally adequate to support the additional loads of the equipment to be installed. Please refer to the following structural calculations, structural drawings and the supporting architectural drawings. The General Contractor shall verify all existing dimensions, member sizes and conditions prior to commencing any work. All dimensions of existing condition shown on the calculation are intended as guidelines only and must be verified in the field. Any discrepancies shall be called to the attention of the architect or engineer and shall be resolved before proceeding with the work. Contractor should provide temporary bracing for the structure and structural components until all final connections have been completed in accordance with the plans. 16928 Woodinville -Redmond Rd NE, Suite 210 Phone: (425) 487-1732 Woodinville, WA 98072 °'1 (206) 250-7306 Email: cei cornerstone -en com COrNe,RS7rONE @ LNG 1 Web: www.comerstone-engr.com N E C R, N r', INC. My guess is that the attached "Corrections Letter" did not reach my office because it was mailed to an incorrect address. I received the letter for the first time this morning and asked the engineer to immediately address your requests and hope to have the revised drawing set to you this week. However there is a chance that I may not meet the deadline set in the letter I received only today.
