BUDGET HEARING Council Chambers
MINUTES
The meeting was called to order by Councilman Bauch, acting as
Chairman of the meeting in the absence of Council President Bohrer.
EDGAR D. BAUCH, JOE. H. DUFFIE, MABEL J. HARRIS, DORIS PHELPS.
Mayor Gary Van Dusen, Don Williams(Director of Parks Recreation),
ALAN DOERSCHEL (Director of Finance).
Don Williams, Director of Parks and Recreation Department, presented
the budget for that Department.
Mr. Williams said the City's Block Grant Population fund allotment
will be $12,959. It is requested it be used as matching funds as part
of a request to obtain additional Block Grant Needs funds to
purchase a new recreation van or bus.
MOVED BY PHELPS, SECONDED BY BAUCH, THAT THE COMMUNITY BLOCK GRANT
FUND OF $12,959 BE TRANSFERRED FROM THE RECREATION BUDGET TO THE
LAND ACQUISITION BUDGET FUND. MOTION CARRIED.
It was noted the Council will consider the Recreation Director's
salary at a later date.
Mr. Williams stated the sum for extra labor shows an increase of
4 Overtime has been reduced.
Approved as submitted.
Mr. Williams stated he wanted to discuss the Center Feasibility
Study and Park Plan with Brad Collins, Planning Department. The
Department request is $2,073.
Mr. Williams stated the Old City Hall Park should be considered
during 1983.
Mr. Williams said his Department has requested tables and chairs in
the amount of $3,600, a chalk liner /tennis ball machine in the
amount of $870. He suggested $2,000 as an amount that would be
needed for the 75th anniversary year.
Mayor Van Dusen said there is $47,000 fund balance in the
uncommitted fund.
Councilman Morgan arrived at the meeting at 9:00 p.m.
MOVED BY BAUCH, SECONDED BY DUFFIE, THAT COUNCIL ENTER $2,000 FROM
THE SUPPLEMENTAL BUDGET INTO THE BUDGET FOR THE 75TH ANNIVERSARY.
MOTION CARRIED, WITH PHELPS AND HARRIS VOTING NO.
Council determined they would consider the purchase of the tables
and chairs in the amount of $3,600 at a later date.
MOVED BY BAUCH, SECONDED BY DUFFIE, THAT THE BUDGET HEARING ADJOURN.
MOTION CARRIED.
