This accounts for approximately a 1 % decline in annual sales taxes. Construction related sales taxes are up $285 thousand year-to-date, with the third quarter coming in $281 thousand or 66% greater than the third quarter of 2018. All Other Industries are down $518 thousand, which accounts for a 3% decline. Through the third quarter of 2019 sales tax collections are $234 thousand less than the allocated annual budget. The Construction sector is the largest increase year-to-date, highlighting a strong third quarter for that sector. Automotive sales taxes have the largest year-to-date decline; this is attributed to a single taxpayer with approximately $246 thousand less in sales taxes this year compared to the prior year. The chart above compares the prior year-to-date totals to the current year-to-date totals for the eight major categories of sales tax.
