Call to Order: Chair Steve Miller called the meeting to order at 5:33pm 2. Roll Call: • Board Members: Steve Miller, Marie Parrish, Scott Kruize, Linda McLeod, Gerie Ventura • KCLS Staff.- Angelina Benedetti, Regional Manager • City Staff.- Tracy Gallaway, Parks & Recreation Manager • Guests: Cynthia Chesak 3. Approval of Agenda and Minutes: Scott Kruize motioned to approve the agenda and accept the minutes of the May 7, 2019 minutes, Gerie Ventura seconded the motion and there was unanimous approval. 4. Public Comment There were no public comments. 5. Unfinished Business • Parking concerns at Tukwila Library: Scott Kruize noted that the parking at Tukwila Village seems to have improved with the addition of signs. Marie Parrish mentioned that Brian Park would be attending the next TIBAC meeting, September 101" from 7-8:30pm (Valley View Sewer District) to further discuss parking at Tukwila Village. 6. New Business • Fall 2019 TLAB Initiatives - Halloween Carnival, Spirit of Giving — the board would like to have some budget information so they could allocate funds. 7. Reports (10 minutes) KCLS — Angie Benedetti handed out the KCLS September Event Guide. She highlighted the next Confluence Tukwila event, scheduled for September 14 from 1-3pm, which will feature stories done by youth. Also, coming up is the 1000 Peace Cranes Project in celebration of International Day of Peace, on September 201". Due to the TSD construction projects, KCLS used foundation funding to provide regular snacks at the Tukwila Library. They also provided additional Kindergarten Readiness classes through their kaleidoscope program. Teen services librarian, Rachel McDonald, will be moving into the position of the Teen Coordinator for KCLS. Later this fall you will be able to pay fines and purchase additional prints using a credit card. Everyone has a $11.25 credit for 75 copies (this is a weekly amount). o Will Tent City 3 coming to Tukwila present any challenges? Angie will be looking into KCLS will be bringing out mobile services to that site. City of Tukwila —Tracy noted that TP&R had a busy summer and was now transitioning to school year programs, including the preschool which is starting on September 91" and the before & after school programs starting on September 41". Tracy also noted the AiR event scheduled for September 81" — Welcome the Water and reviewed the mural projects that have occurred this summer and will continue this fall. This fall P&R is partnering with Silver Kite Arts to provide a variety of arts opportunities, and a couple "senior" specific classes. The Fall Recreation Guide has a complete listing of activities, as well as ideas for how to celebrate National Arts & Humanities month in October. 8.
