October 1, 2019 5:30 p.m. Tukwila Community Center
1. Call to Order: Vice Chair Marie Parrish called the meeting to order at 5:31 pm
2. Roll Call:
• Board Members: Marie Parrish, Scott Kruize, Linda McLeod
• Absent: Steve Miller, Gerie Ventura, Verna Seal
• KCLS Staff.- Angelina Benedetti, Regional Manager
• City Staff.- Stephanie Brown, Parks & Recreation
3. Approval of Agenda and Minutes -Approval of 09/03/2019 Minutes (5 minutes) There was not a
quorum therefore 9/3/20 minutes will be approved at the next meeting.

5. Unfinished Business
• Fall 2019 Initiatives: Stephanie reviewed accomplishments and budget through the third quarter
of 2020.
6. New Business
• 2020 Workplan: Stephanie distributed the Tukwila Municipal Code and reviewed history of TLAB
to help prepare board members for developing the 2020 Workplan.
7. Reports (10 minutes)
• KCLS — Angie Benedetti handed out the KCLS October Event Guide. Angie suggested folks go to
KCLS.org/Reel Fest to share what the library means to you via a video. At the last meeting Angie
had mentioned that Rachel McDonald the taken the regional Teen Program Coordinator
position. There has been a seamless transition to a new Tukwila Teen Services Librarian. His
name is Greg Summers and Angie will arrange for him to attend a future meeting. Angie also
distributed information about the fall author series at KCLS. Finally, KCLS shared information
about another library in the KCLS system. KCLS has started active social services support at the
Renton Library. The library is providing information and services in a new way to help people
navigate resources that will assist folks experiencing a variety of challenges.
• City of Tukwila
o PROS Plan: Stephanie encouraged members to participate in the Parks, Recreation and
Open Space plan by taking the survey. She distributed materials w/ survey links.
o Halloween Carnival is scheduled for October 24, 2019.
8. Other — n/a
9. Next Meeting: Meeting concluded at 6:31 pm, next meeting is scheduled for November 5, 2019. There
was not a quorum therefore a motion to end the meeting was not necessary.
