SPECIAL PRESENTATION Public Safety Plan Art. Enrnallowinski, Weinstein A+L�and Steve Schmitz, DLFfGroup. The presenters provided information on art features being incorporated into the two new fire stations and the Justice Center. These include both interior and exterior features, and include input received from users, the Arts Commission and community members. PUBLIC COMMENTS Pat Larson, 14244 55th Avenue South, spoke on behalf of the Citizens for Tukwila Schools' levy campaign, which supports Proposition 1 and Proposition 2 on the February 11, 2020 ballot. REPORTS a. Mayor. Mayor Ekberg attended the United States Conference of Mayors'Winter Meeting last week. On January 26, 2020, he attended the Lunar New Year celebration at the Vietnamese Martyrs Church, and the Seattle Seawolves game at Starfire Sports where he presented the game ball to the referee with Counci|memberKru||er. b. City Council Councilmember Seal reviewed the items discussed at the first Finance Committee meeting of the year that was held earlier this evening. Counoi|rnemberKru||erhas heard numerous reports ofcar vandalism. She noted that voting for Position 2ofthe King Conservation District isbeing conducted on-|ine. She has been doorbeUingfor the school |evy, and participated in the trash pick-up day on Tukwila International Bou|evonj, for which she expressed appreciation toSharon Mann. She also attended the Lunar New Year celebration etthe Vietnamese Martyrs Church, and was honored to hand the game ball to the referee at the Seattle Geawo|vasmatch onJanuary 28.2O2O. Tukwila City Council Committee ufthe Whole Minutes Councilmember McLeod attended his first meeting of the South King Housing and Homelessness Partners (GKHHP)onJanuary 24.202O. OnJanuary 25.2O2O.heattended ocoffee chat with Representatives Steve Bergquistand Zack Hudgins otFhendzCaW Councilmember Idan walked the McMicken Heights neighborhood this weekend to talk to residents. He noted some renters are not able to take advantage of the City's mailbox program if the property owner is not willing to participate. Counci|member De|ootrinoo Johnson acknowledged YWono, a student from Foster High School in the audience, whom she met while doorbelling for the school levy and who has shown an interest in City government. She asked that the information from the presentation be nhonad with the Council. Council President Quinn referenced the Council Analyst's recent request for Council input on o potential Town Hall. He attended the Finance Committee meeting this evening, and a meeting of the Lodging Tax Advisory Committee, which included a presentation about the Food Hall coming to Tukwila Village later this year. MISCELLANEOUS Councilmember Seal referenced today's Supreme Court decision on the definition of "public charge" in relation hoimmigration issues. The Northwest Immigrant Rights Project hada|iabsningaeaeionbmdoy. and W1a. Sae| will be passing information on to the Qty'a Human Services Deportment, Councilmember Kruller noted the Seattle Seawolves' owner, Shane Skinner, presented the City with a championship ring last year and asked about options for displaying this and similar gifts to the City.
