The City Administrator Report is meant toprovide the Council, staff and community an update on
the activities of the City and on issues that concern Tukwila. Please let me know if you have any
questions or need additional information about any of the following items.
I. Intergovernmental Update
On April 27, May4 and May 11 City Administrator David Clinejoined other regional City
Managers on a conference call with the Governor's office regarding COVID-19.
On May 1 Mayor Ekbergjoined other regional Mayors on a conference call with the Governor's
office regarding COVID-19. Another call is scheduled for May 19.
On May 6 City Administrator David Cline facilitated the monthly meeting of the King County
City Managers/City Administrators. Candice Bock of the Association of Washington Cities
provided an update and King County Budget Director Dwight Dively provided a preview of the
County biennial budget process. The group then had a roundtable discussion about the Open
Public Meetings Act, extension of the Stoy Home, Stoy Heolthy order, and how the phased
approach to reopening will work, and CARES Act funding.
II. Community Outreach
Parks and Recreation staff conducted a Help Us, Help You community survey April 24 - 28.
Survey results indicate that people are eager to get back into parks and are seeking
recreation programs to support family and health needs.
Parks and Recreation staff and Fitness Instructors continue weekly "live" check ins with
participants on our Adult and Senior Fitness Participant Facebook Pages. Staff are posting
Motivational Morning Movement Posts on Facebook every weekday morning a 9:00 AM.
Personal Trainer, Jocelyn Shelby, hosts a live Zoom Senior Balance and Fitness Session each
Tuesday and Thursday at 1:00 PM for interested participants.

Ill. Staff Updates
Public Safety
• Chief Wittwer continues to coordinate on Monday, Wednesdays and Fridays with regional
partners regarding the COVID-19 issues affecting the region.
• Chief Linton continues to meet weekly with Valley chiefs in the COVID-19 coordination efforts.
Project Updates
• Boeing Access Rd over Airport Way Bridge: Estimated Completion: December 2020
The award to Razz Construction was approved by Council on May 4. A draft Notice of Award
letter has been created and the contract will be awarded once the WSDOT Construction
Agreement has been received. Once the Notice of Award is issued, the pre -construction
meeting can be scheduled and the Notice to Proceed can be awarded. The project is
scheduled to begin construction in June 2020.
• 53rdAve S: Estimated Completion: July2020
Staff is working with Comcast to get the cutover work completed. Once complete Sefnco can
return and remove the overhead lines and when overhead lines are moved, CenturyLink will
remove the existing utility poles. The contractor will then return to the site and physically
complete the project.
• 42"dAve S Bridge In-depth Inspection: The City has been in communication/coordination
with BNSF on the proposed truck detour/reroute when the bridge is closed to truck traffic
during the inspection. Once the inspection is scheduled, the City will communicate with the
local residents in the Allentown neighborhood about the inspection and the truck
reroute/detour.
42"d Ave S Bridge Design: The Request for Proposals (RFP) was advertised in the Seattle
Times and in the Seattle Daily Journal with access to the RFP in Tukwila's Digital Records
Center. Design RFP's are due on May 19 by 5 PM. The City will then short list the submitted
RFP's and proceed with consultant interviews for design.
