Chair Kruller called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m.
I. BUSINESSAGENDA
A. Tukwila Police Use of Force Policy Review
Chief Linton updated the Committee on the Department's Use of Force policies, currently
under review and touching upon the 6 pillars from President Obama's Task Force on 215t
Century Policing, the current #8CantWait proposal, use -of -force continuum, body worn
cameras, tracking & statistics, duty to intercede, crisis intervention and de-escalation.
Councilmembers engaged in an in-depth Question and Answer session specific to Tukwila
Police Department policy, applied practices, recent and upcoming changes, and what
legislative support is needed.
Question(s) requiring follow-up:
Provide a complaint summary and process report.
Committee Recommendation:
Discussion only, return to committee.
II. MISCELLANEOUS
Staff will return to Committee with a discussion on Juneteenth recognition.
