TUKWILA CITY COUNCIL SPECIAL MEETING M I N U T E S City Hall Council Chambers Mayor Van Dusen led the audience and City Council in the Pledge of Allegiance and called the Special Meeting of the Tukwila City Council to order. EDGAR D. BAUCH, JOE H. DUFFIE, MABEL J. HARRIS (Council President), GEORGE D. HILL, WENDY MORGAN, DORIS PHELPS. MOVED BY MORGAN, SECONDED BY DUFFIE, THAT COUNCILMAN BOHRER BE EXCUSED FROM THE SPECIAL MEETING. MOTION CARRIED. Brad Collins (Planning Director), Hubert Crawley (Fire Chief), Alan Doerschel (Finance Director), Pat Lowery (Police Chief), Byron Sneva (Public Works Director), Don Williams (Parks and Recreation Director), Dan Woo (Deputy City Attorney). Don Williams, Parks and Recreation Director, stated the King County Block Grant Office has informed the Administration that $700,000 in Emergency Block Grant Funds are available to 25 County cities on a competitive basis. Completed applications are due to the Block Grant Office by May 16, 1983 at 4:30 p.m. Administration desires to apply for a grant to hire consultants to help prepare all documents and plans for the construction of the Interurban Avenue Improvements. A total grant of $63,000 will be sought, however, it will be broken into a priority list of four work tasks, any or all of which could be funded. In order they are: right -of -way acqusition activities, utility survey, drainage basin study, and contract plans and specifications MOVED BY PHELPS, SECONDED BY HILL, THAT ADMINISTRATION BE AUTHORIZED TO PURSUE GRANTS FOR INTERURBAN CORRIDOR IMPROVEMENTS.
