• Board Member Jan Bolerjack called the meeting to order at 6:35pm
• Minutes for February 13, 2020 deferred until August meeting due to lack of a quorum present.
• Chiefs Update:
o Use of Force Policy Review - Chief Linton discussed the Tukwila Police Use -of -Force Review
presented to the Community Services and Safety Committee and the Equity and Social Justice
Commission surrounding the 98CantWait police reform proposal.
o An overview of the civil unrest/riot that occurred in the Central Business District at the end of
May was presented to the board.
o Chief Linton presented a brief overview of the 4th of July activities in Tukwila considering the
City Council full review the following week.
o Chief Linton updated the board regarding the approximate timeline for Justice Center Opening
(Construction and completion on schedule for an expected opening in September).
• Good of the order: Board Member Tosh Sharp spoke about the possibility of initiating a question
and answer feed for inclusion on the Police Department website.
• Meeting adjourned at 6:56pm
Next meeting will be on Thursday, 8/13/20 from 6:30pm - 8:00pm virtually via Microsoft Teams.
