All were in favor and the motion carried. 13. Public Comment: There were no public ^—^ Unfinished Business `^~minutes) a. 2020 Workplan and Budget (attachment A) i. Ms. Benedetti explained the annual,Dr. Suess event will not be held at library this year due to construction of nearby facilities. She asked if the board would be willing to explore other options, Scott Kruize motioned the funding be applied for a different event or program. Verna Seal seconded the,motion, all were in favor and the motion ii. Ms. Gardner -Brown shared information bout the,20 th annual Backyard Wildlife Festival and requested funding to supportv;jrlious activities and give away. iii. Marie''Parrish motioned to support the event by providing $300 to provide an author talk or performer for the Backyard Wildfife Festival. Scott Kruize seconded the motion, all,were in favor and the motion carried. iv. Scott Kruize motioned funding in,the amount of $300 to support a give -a -way that supportsthe author/performer, examples include a helpful book on insects, gardening, trees, comppsting, recycl,i,ng, worms or anything that kids may like. Verna Seal seconded the motion, all,were in favor and the motion carried. b. Staff presented information about Teens for Tukwila and their upcoming trip to Washington D.C. for the Nationalteague of Cities Conference. Marie Parrish motioned the Board provide $50 per per student to be utilized for meals and/or incidentals to support the Teens for Tukwila Washington DC trip. Verna Seal'seconcled the motion, all in favor and the motion carried. 16. New Business a. Chair Rotation: The 2020 Chair is Marie Parrish and Vice Chair: Gerie Ventura. Verna Seal motioned to appbint,Marie Parris asthe ZUZUchair, Cynthia ChesakKseconded — all infavor. b. ZUZUMeeting Schedule: Marie Parrish suggested the following ZUZUschedule: April 14',June Z,September 1,and November3rd If business arises Staff Liaison, Stephanie will make arrangements for additional meetings. Scott Kruizemotioned toaccept the proposed meeting dates, Verna Seal seconded the motion, — all were infavor and the motion carried. 2 16. Reports (10 minutes) a. KCLS i. Printing Policy: KCLS is looking at the printing expenses and has updated the organizations printing limits. ii. KCLS Board will be voting soon on a levy request. iii. Parking: parking continues to be a concern at the library, especially with current construction. b. City of Tukwila i. All public safety buildings are on schedule/task ii.
