WHEREAS, Kenyon Disend has provided City Attorney services to the City of Tukwila
for more than 25 years; and
WHEREAS, in good times, and in difficult times, Kenyon Disend and their staff have
dealt with a diverse range of legal issues and provided courteous and comprehensive
service to City officials and City staff; and
WHEREAS, members of the Kenyon Disend team have always showed an affection for
and commitment to the Tukwila community, embracing the unique nature of the
City, the diverse make-up of our residents and recognizing the regional importance
of Tukwila’s business community; and
WHEREAS, Kenyon Disend has been involved in key projects and successes for the City
of Tukwila which includes, but is not limited to:
• Land use regulations for Adult Entertainment;
• Two Shoreline Master Plan updates;
• Development Agreement and Annexation for Tukwila South;
• New Sign Code;
• Two Sensitive Areas updates;
• Streamlining the City appeals process;
• Pacific Highway South/Urban Renewal;
• The Southcenter redevelopment project;
• The Sound Transit Light Rail; and
• The Tukwila Public Safety Plan Projects which included the acquisition and
condemnation of 13 separate properties through the use of eminent domain.
NOW THEREFORE, I, Allan Ekberg, Mayor of the City of Tukwila, do hereby express my
sincere appreciation and gratitude for the Kenyon Disend firm in recognition of the
high-quality services they have provided to the City of Tukwila since 1993.
