This 100 litres vessel is functioning as safety reservoir for the fl furnace (doors and some other pneumatic actuators) in emergency situation where compressed air supply is lost. 2.2.2 Convection heating Compressed air supply is also needed for the convection heating inside the furnace. For this purpose it is necessary that air supply network has a volume of at least of 2 m3. Otherwise we recommend adding a pressure vessel of at least 2 m3 as shown in pneumatic detail of Machine layout drawing. Below table gives the requirements for the compressed air supply. Please also see chapter 1.4 for general compressed air requirements. Maximum compressed air consumption (pneumatic actuators 2 m3/min + convection heating) Needed pressure at connection point 8 bars (absolute NOTE. The consumption figure has been given at standard afmospheric pressure at sea level at 20 °C. 2.3 VPN connection - Remote support system Please see following enclosures: • `Remote connection, customer instructions' • Machine layout P554295V01, position (m) for connection point The purpose of the secure VPN connection over Internet is to enable remote support during installation and warranty period of the Glaston machinery by the Glaston specialists as well as Glaston Services during the lifetime of Glaston machinery. The Buyer is able to decide how the connectivity is used and when Glaston has remote access to site unless otherwise agreed. Glaston supplies the needed remote connection equipment as integral part of glass processing machinery. The Buyer supplies the connection to Internet and network cable to connection point as per given instructions. NOTE. `Remote connection, cusfomer instructions' document needs to be fulfilled in order to setup the VPN equipment prior shipping of the machine. 3 CIVIL WORKS AT SITE The following chapters describe the preliminary work that needs to be done by the Buyer before installation begins. Completing these works in time allows a smooth start and prevents delays or interruptions in the installation process. For reference, please see the factory layout plan P554288V03-A and machine layout plan P554295V01. 3.1 Entrance to the factory The factory building should have an entrance door that allows moving the machine to its final position of installation without problems. Recommended minimum door size can be found from the machine layout P554295V01. 3.2 Foundation The floor area where the machine is to be sited should be able to withstand the weight of the machine & should have a flatness differential no more than ± 10 mm in any area of the machinery. The furnace loads are shown in the Load Distribution drawing P555336L74 enclosed. 3.3 Blower room 3.3.1 Opening for Air Ducts Openings created in the blower room wall or floor for air ducting should be sealed after the furnace is installed to restrict sound transmission. This can be done with the use of mineral wool, mastic, fibre and plates etc. 3.3.2Air intake opening(s) Air intake opening(s) are needed to provide compensate air for the blowers. As it is very important that any impurities e.g. dust, water cannot be sucked into the blower and associated ducting / nozzle sections, the air intake opening(s) should not be located close to the ground. In some cases filters are needed to prevent impurities from entering the blower room. The air should come from outside the factory as to avoid circulation of warm factory air. However, in areas where the ambient temperature is likely to fall lower than +5°C, compensation air should be taken (also) from inside the building so that the temperature in blower room stays above this +5°C level. When designing and preparing the air intake opening(s) for the blower room, following data should be taken into account. Maximum ressure loss over the intake s 100 Pa Maximum air flow of the blowers 43,4 m3/s Minimum net area of the intake orifice 9 m2 3.3.3 Blower room noise reduction These general Sound power figures can be used for designing the noise reduction of the blower room. We warmly recommend insulating the duct between the wall and cooling section in order to minimize the noise level. 3.4 Disposal of oil contained drainage Drains for condense water from compressed air system / compressor are required (f). Drains should include a trap where water and oil can be separated. The oil should flow into collector, which must be emptied regularly. 3.5 Sulphur dioxide (S02) 3.5.1 General Sulphur dioxide (S02) gas is used to form a thin protective layer on the surface of the furnace rollers. This ensures smooth contact to the glass and protects the glass surface from scratch marks or white haze. It is recommended to use sulphur dioxide only when absolutely necessary, like after cleaning the furnace rollers. The S02 gas should fullfill the below general requirement: • Sulfur dioxide 3.0 • Purity >- 99.9% (Contact local supplier for exact specification) For further information about S02 please see enclosed Safety Data sheet for S02 Sulphur dioxide gas NOTE1. The use of S02 is instructed in the operator's manual which provides information, when S02 should be used. No operator should operate the furnace unless having got familiar with the operating manual 2 3.5.2 S02 bottle + interface definition S02 bottle + gas is supplied by the Buyer Please see Machine layout P554295V01, position (So2) for S02 bottle connection point and corresponding connection adapter type. The adapter where S02 bottle is connected is: • Type DIN477 No. 7 • Size G5/8". NOTE2: In case the S02 bottle is located other position that beside the electrical cabinets, Buyer is responsible to supply pipe work from the S02 bottle to the connection position defined in machine layout P554295V01. • The duct outer diameter is D6 • material AISI 316 NOTE3: The S02 bottle positioning and storage should be made in accordance with local regulations. 4 INSTALLATION 4.1 Installation Site Readiness Report An installation site readiness report has been enclosed to this letter. To ensure a timely and smooth start for the installation, this report should be fulfilled and faxed to Glaston 1.4.2016 latest. The fax number has been given in the report and it can be also sent with email to the address also mentioned in the report. 4.2 Unloading the delivery The equipment will be delivered in containers. Goods are packed and protected as required under normal conditions to prevent rust and damage or the deterioration of the equipment during the transport to the installation site. The Buyer is responsible for the unloading of the machine from trailers or containers. If possible, Glaston will send an installation supervisor to supervise unloading. NOTE. There are fragile goods included, which have to be handled very carefully. Attention should be paid when handling packages containing electric components and ceramic rollers. Normal precautions must be followed when handling any package. When unloading takes place, first the delivery needs to be checked for possible transportation damages. If all the boxes and packing are undamaged, items should be moved to indoors near assembly place. We warmly recommend leaving the final position of the line free of any packing or boxes. If transportation damages are detected, contact Glaston immediately. Shipping damage must be photographed and reported to Glaston before proceeding with the unloading. Any damage incurred during the unloading process is on the responsibility of the Buyer. ' NOTE. Any packages or boxes may not be opened without presence of Glaston supervisor. 4.3 Tools and Manpower Please see `Preliminary schedule and Tool list for installation' The requirement for the tools and manpower needed during the installation are shown in the above mentioned enclosure. As a standard, manpower for the installation (arranged by the Buyer) executes the installation work, under supervision of the Glaston installation supervisor. Glaston strongly recommends that the Buyer hires a responsible electricians and mechanics according to the recommendations given in enclosure. NOTE. Local customs and working practices are ditferent. Glaston requires that the manpower is professional (mechanics and electricians) and carry their own tools. This is the only way to ensure the smooth and timely proceeding of the installation. The Buyer should also arrange the following for the Glaston supervisor(s): • A lockable area within the factory where belongings can be held and clothes changed • A desk near to the furnace for the supervisors use • The use of a local workshops (if any) and the equipment therein e.g. welders, drilling or cutting equipment 4.4 Installation schedule Please see `Preliminary schedule and Tool list for installation' The preliminary installation schedule is shown in the above mentioned enclosure. Schedule also shows the amount of manpower needed at each stage of the installation. In case the Buyer does not follow recommendations of Glaston concerning the tools and manpower needed, delays with installation are very likely. NOTE. If for some reason (not caused by Glaston) the installation work is delayed or even interrupted, the conditions defined in the Sa/es agreement shall apply. Examples of possible reasons: • Site is not ready • Buyer's delay (of more than three days) such as electrical, mechanical or shortage of materials 4.5 First heating of the Furnace During the first heating of the furnace, the insulation may smoke and smell, thus good ventilation is necessary. This operation will take approximately 12 hours. If it is necessary to be present during first heating it is highly recommended to use respirator masks due to the fumes. 4.6 Static Electricity During the quenching process high static electricity charges may develop on certain coated glass types. While removing these glass sheets from the unloading conveyor operators should pay special attention on how to discharge static electricity from them without damaging coatings & causing discomfort to themselves. Discharge can be done by grounding a glass sheet from its edge or by using equipment made for such purpose. Discharging equipment is not a standard part of the Glaston delivery. We hope that the above information will help you to carry out the preparation work. If you have any questions concerning this project please do not hesitate to contact us.
