DETAILS The panels consist of 3-1/2" to 5-1/2" thick high density foam or wooden frames with foamed -in- place rigid plastic core material manufactured by Dow Chemical Company and designated as: Voracor CFA 08, 01:151, CE153. CEI 28, CBI 55, CFA 52, CE157 "A" side. Delta Therm AF4509 or Voracor CRI 004 "B" side. The skins are fabricated from 26 gauge galvanized steel with a minimum yield strength 33 ksi. The panels are held together by the use of cam -locking devises along the edges of the panels. Access holes for these devices are covered with metal or plastic plugs. Flame Spread and Smoke Development ratings per ASTM E84 are 20 and 300 respectively, for the foam (tested alone) and 15 and 250 respectively, for the foam with the skin described below. Density of the foam core is 2.2 + or -.2 pef. The plan for the new cooler shows only one means of egress out of that back cooler where the this would resemble a corridor. By my measurement, the travel through the coolers exceed 50 feet. Obviously, the concern is should s seismic event occur or a fire or both, a person could become trapped in that cooler. Provide some means where the distance is reduced and the potential of a person in back cooler shall be able to safely exit. (IBC 1020.4) Response: An exit has been provided in the south wall of the new cooler which will allow a person to safely exit the new cooler and travel a short distance to the existing exit door in the existing south wall north of the women's rest room. As a note, this structure is equipped with a sprinkler system. 2. The scope of work indicated a mechanical permit for one floor sink. It was not clear as to where that floor sink is located. Also, that would require a plumbing plan under a plumbing permit and the floor sink shall be trapped with a trap primer. The scope of work for this permit shall only be for the demo and access to the new freezer and any structural work included. The walk-in cooler has already been applied for. Please clarify and provide the necessary permits and plans. Response: A floor sink is not required for the new walk-in cooler. Condensate for the new condenser unit will be plumbed to the existing floor sink provided under the original permit. The plan for the new cooler shows only one means of egress out of that back cooler where the this would resemble a corridor. Exit access shall be arranged such that there are no dead ends in corridors more than 20 feet in length or shall not exceed 50 feet if equipped throughout with an automatic sprinkler system. By my measurement, the travel through the coolers exceed 50 feet. Obviously, the concern is should a seismic event occur or a fire or both, a person could become trapped in that cooler. Provide some means where the distance is reduced and the potential of a person in that back cooler shall be able to safely exit. (IBC 1020.4) 2. Note: This permit plan review may not be complete as revised plans may require further corrections. Please address the comments above in an itemized format with applicable revised plans, specifications, and/or other documentation. The City requires that two (2) sets of revised plan pages, specifications and/or other documentation be resubmitted with the appropriate revision block. 6300 Southcenter Boulevard Suite #100 • Tukwila Washineton 98188 • Phone 206-431-3670 • Fax 206-4.31-3665 In order to better expedite your resubiuittal, a 'Revision Submittal Sheet' must accompany every resubmittal.
