U -factors and SHGC are maximums. When insulation is installed in a cavity which is less than the label or design thickness of the insulation, the compressed R -value of the insulation from Appendix Table A101.4 shall not be less than the R -value specified in the table. b The fenestration U -factor column excludes skylights. The SHGC column applies to all glazed fenestration. "10/15/21.+TB" means R-10 continuous insulation on the exterior of the wall, or R-15 on the continuous insulation on the interior of the wall, or R-21 cavity insulation plus a thermal break between the slab and the basement wall at the interior of the basement wall. "10/15/21.+TB" shall be permitted to be met with R-13 cavity insulation on the interior of the basement wall plus R-5 continuous insulation on the interior or exterior of the wall. "10/13" means R-10 continuous insulation on the interior or exterior of the home or R-13 cavity insulation at the interior of the basement wall. "TB" means thermal break between floor slab and basement wall. d R-10 continuous insulation is required under heated slab on grade floors. This calculator will calculate heating loads only. ACCA procedures for sizing cooling systems should be used to determine cooling loads. The glazing (window) and door portion of this calculator assumes the installed glazing and door products have an area weighted average U -factor of 0.30. The incorporated insulation requirements are the minimum prescriptive amounts specified by the 2015 WSEC. Please fill out all of the green drop -downs and boxes that are applicable to your project. As you make selections in the drop -downs for each section, some values will be calculated for you. The Building Official has reviewed your letter and determined that the City of Tukwila Building Division will not be re -opening the permit. A notice was mailed to the designated contact for this permit (Luis Sialer) a full month ahead of expiration (letter was dated and mailed December 3, 2019) which provided two options to keep the permit in good standing. The first was to continue construction and have an inspection and the second option was to submit for extension at least (7) days in advance of the expiration date. The request we did receive was received (7) days after the actual expiration of the permit. This is why your request for extension has been denied. In order for work to continue and inspections be conducted, a new permit will need to be issued. To do this, complete and submit a new application with two copies of drawings and documents. As with the original submittal of the permit, this submittal will need to be made in person. If you wish to discuss the determination made, please contact the Building Official directly at 206 431- 3675. All correction requests from each department must be addressed at the same time and reflected on your drawings. I have enclosed comments from the following departments: PLANNING DEPARTMENT: Lindsay Brown at (206) 433-7166 if you have questions regarding these comments. • Roof pitch must be 5:12 or steeper in accordance with 18.50.050.6 Single -Family Dwelling Design Standards. PW DEPARTMENT: Joanna Spencer at (206) 431-2440 if you have questions regarding these comments. • 1) Storm drainage design was missing from your submittal. On your site plan please show what are you planning to do about the downspouts from the new addition, since they can't be connected to the existing drainage system, because it is on the north side of the existing house. Public Works strongly recommends infiltration, see attached Public Works Development Bulletin Cl for drainage design options. Conduct a perk test per attached Public Works Bulletin C4 and submit perk test results to Public Works to assure that infiltration will work. • 2) Submit a cost estimate for storm drainage work. Please address the comments above in an itemized format with applicable revised plans, specifications, and/or other documentation. The City requires that two (2) sets of revised plan pages, specifications and/or other documentation be resubmitted with the appropriate revision block. In order to better expedite your resubmittal, a 'Revision Submittal Sheet' must accompany every resubmittal. I have enclosed one for your convenience. Corrections/revisions must be made in person and will not be accepted through the mail or by a messenger service. If you have any questions, I can be reached at (206)433-7165. COUNTY OF KING /f'/, -e775 / (J )/ f (( states as follows: [please print name] 1. I have made application for a permit from the City of Tukwila, Washington. 2. The exceptions to this requirement are stated under Section 18.27.090 of the Revised Code of Washington, a copy of which is printed on the reverse side of this Affidavit. I have read or am familiar with RCW 18.27.090. 3. I understand that prior to issuance of a permit for work which is to be done by any contractor, the City of Tukwila must verify either that the contractor is registered by the State of Washington, or that one of the exemptions stated under RCW 18.27.090 applies. 4. In order to provide verification to the City of Tukwila of my compliance with this requirement, I hereby attest that after reading the exemptions from the registration requirement of RCW 18.27.090, I consider the work authorized under this permit to be exempt under number t3, and will therefore not be performed by a registered contractor. 5.
