MINUTES
REGULAR MEETING
Regular Meeting
September 21, 2020 — 7:00 P.M.
This meeting was conducted remotely, with the City Council, Mayor, and staff off-site and participating via a
remote electronic system.
All participants, including the Mayor, Councilmembers, City staif, and legalcounsel were not at Tukwila
City Hall and participated via a remote e!ectronic system.

CALL TO ORDER/PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE/ROLL CALL
Mayor Ekberg called the remote Regular Meeting of the Tukwila City Council to order at 7:04 p.m. and led
the audience in the Pledge ofAllegiance.
ROLL CALL
Christy O'Flaherty, City Clerk, called the roll of the Council. Present at the remote meeting were
Councilmembers Verna Seal, Kathy Hougordy, De'Soan Quinn, Kate Kruller, Thomas McLeod, Zak !clan,
Cynthia Delostrinos Johnson.

A moment of silence was taken for Ruth Bader Ginsburg, an American juriswho served as a
Justice of the Supreme Court from 1993 until her death in 2020.
Personal Statement bVMayor Ekberg
Mayor Ekberg apologized for his statements from last week, emphasizing that they do not align with his
values, and he is committed to understanding why he was wrong and has sought training to move
forward. He made the commitment that he will be coming forth with a process for the hiring of a Police
Chief that meets the goals of the City Council

Bruce Linton, Police Chief, and Eric Dreyer, Deputy Police Chief, presented the foUowing Life Saving
Medals and Meritorious Service Award.
