The following commissioners attended the regularly scheduled meeting of the Tukwila Civil
Service Commission: Commissioner Ron Johnston and Commissioner Dennis Sivak. Others in
attendance were Stephanie Brown, HR Director, Fire Chief Nick Olivas, and Police Chief Mike
Villa.
Commissioner Carol Zuvela was not in attendance.
CALL TO ORDER
5:00 p.m. Commissioner Sivak called the December meeting of the
Tukwila Civil Service Commission to order.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
MOVED BY JOHNSTON, SECONDED BY SIVAK
THAT THE MINUTES OF THE TUKWILA CIVIL
SERVICE COMMISSION MEETING HELD ON
NOVEMBER 7, 2011, BE APPROVED. MOTION
CARRIED.
FIRE DEPARTMENT BUSINESS
Staffing Update
Chief Olivas reported that he is at full staff. The Chief had
nothing additional to report.
POLICE DEPARTMENT BUSINESS
Staffing Update
Chief Villa reported that two new hires passed the
Academy and have started their FTO (field training). One
lateral hire completed FTO and two new hires entered the
Academy.
He reported that Commander Bruce Linton's military
deployment was cancelled and he returned to work on
December 1, 2011. He added that Jonathon Harrison will
remain a provisional Commander. Mark Dunlap returned
to Investigations and Bruce Linton will be assigned to
Patrol.
