CALL TO ORDER ROLL CALL OF COUNCIL MEMBERS OFFICIALS IN ATTENDANCE Council Goals TUKWILA CITY COUNCIL City Hall BUDGET HEARING Council Chambers M I N U T E S Council President Harris called the Budget Hearing meeting of the Tukwila City Council to order at 7 :45 p.m. EDGAR D. BAUCH, L. C. BOHRER, JOE H. DUFFIE, MABEL J. HARRIS (Council President), WENDY MORGAN, DORIS PHELPS. Brad Collins (Planning Director, Alan Doerschel (Finance Director), Pat Lowery (Chief of Police), Mayor Gary Van Dusen, Don Williams (Parks and Recreation Director). The Goal Statements and Actions were discussed. The need to publicize work in progress and pending legislation in the City was discussed. The need of either a public bulletin board or a newsletter published on a monthly basis that would relay City news to the citizens was discussed. There is a need to collect information from each City Council Member so their views can be expressed to the public. An item could be inserted in the Hazelnut saying the agenda and minutes of the City Council meeting would be sent to citizens upon request. Revenue Estimate, MOVED BY BAUCH, SECONDED BY BOHRER, THAT THE 1984 ESTIMATE FOR Pages 1 and 2. SALES TAX BE WHAT THE ACTUAL AMOUNT WAS IN 1983. MOTION CARRIED. MOVED BY BAUCH, SECONDED BY PHELPS, TO INCREASE THE OPTIONAL SALES TAX RATE TO THREE- TENTHS FROM TWO- TENTHS EFFECTIVE JANUARY 1, 1984 AND THE MONEY BE PUT IN THE CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM. MOTION CARRIED, WITH BOHRER VOTING NO. COUNCILMAN PHELPS LEFT THE MEETING AT 9:42 P.M. Council President Harris stated the meeting scheduled for November 10, 1983 will be postponed due to lack of a quorum. Council President Harris adjourned the meeting at 10:33 p.m. Mabel 'J.
