One thing I did see it that this is a light box — if you're just sliding panels into it and not interrupting/disconnecting power then you don't need an electrical permit — however, if power is disconnected then an electrical will be needed and that will need to be taken care of (in person) with the building division. Hello Teri, Thanks for your help today. Please confirm you got this ok and it's in review. Here's our permit drawings and application for this. There' two versions of the application, one is signed by the building owner and the other has the missing EBF info filled in. Please let me know if you need anything else and if there's anything I can do to move this through. The building banner needs to come down per the 30 day temporary permit on the 12th so we were hoping to not have a space of time where they were without a sign. Also, as soon as this is reviewed and approved I'd like to know so we can start the production of their signs right away. I'd like to make a note that there was some question about whether there was an entrance on the freeway side of the building. There is a public entrance that is open during business hours with parking and it's the elevator entrance. The customer contact Nathan said that a tour of the property is possible as well to show that this is in fact an entrance. Permits presuming to give authority to violate or cancel the provisions of this code or other ordinances of the City shall not be valid. The issuance of a permit based on construction documents and other data shall not prevent the Director from requiring correction of errors in the construction documents and other data (TMC 19.12.020 (C)). Pursuant to TMC 19.12.0150, sign permits shall be valid for 180 days from the date of issuance of the sign permit. The Director may approve one extension of up to 30 days if a written request is submitted to the City BEFORE expiration of the 180 day period. A final inspection of the sign is required for all signs when installation is complete. The applicant or installer is required to schedule the final Sign inspection through the City's Inspection line at (206)438-9350. The 4 -digit inspection code needed for scheduling the final Sign inspection is 1510. The applicant or installer does not need to be present for the final Sign inspection. It is the responsibility of the installer to obtain the electrical permit and inspections from the City of Tukwila Permit Center at (206) 431-3670. The electrical inspector will need access to complete the Electrical portion of the inspection. Building Mounted Signage Worksheet The City's sign code permits a variety of building mounted signs, including wall signs, signs on awnings, canopy signs and projecting signs. This sign permit application can be used to determine the total number of building mounted signs permitted for your business.
