Hello,
Pardon the delay in processing your sign permit. As this is just a reface of the monument sign, there are two options to
go about completing it. The first is to continue pursuing the permit, which we have reviewed, and as it is approved you
would be able to commence with the reface. Or, as this is just a reface of a monument sign that was constructed after
the revision of the Sign Code, you could complete a Notice of Copy Change (the link is included in the bottom of this
message), gather a letter from the property owner confirming that Culbertson Sign Service LLC was the authorized agent
of the property owner when they applied for the original sign permit, and that now Berry Sign Systems is the authorized
agent in pursuing the reface of this monument sign, and submit the Notice of Copy Change with a photo of the refaced
sign within 30 days of completing the reface.
Please let me know what you decide, or if you need further clarification.

Hello,
My name is Alec Singer and I will be overseeing your sign permit application and approval process. I reviewed the
application this afternoon and had a few follow-up questions before I can issue the permit.
1. 1 will need a site -map, not just an aerial screenshot sourced from google maps, that has the property line
indicated. This is necessary to determine that the sign setback is in compliance with Tukwila Municipal Code
Section 19.20.040, Number 3.
I need confirmation that this sign will be in compliance with the "sight distance triangle," (displayed in Figure
19.4 of the Sign Code within the Tukwila Municipal Code. Defined in 19.08.230, further context provided in
19.20.040, Number 3).
3. Lastly, I will need the dimensions of not just the Sign Message Area, as provided in your application, but of the
entirety of the sign (the slanted, quadrilateral shape the message area is affixed to). This is important as signs
are approved on a square -foot basis, as described in section 19.20.040 of the Municipal code.
Please find included below a link to the Tukwila Municipal Code for reference and further guidance in this process. I will
be out of the office tomorrow, so if this is urgent you may follow up with Planning Supervisor Minnie Dhaliwal who is
cc'd on this email. If it is not urgent, I will be back on Wednesday (11/18) and would be happy to further discuss this
matter over email or phone.

Corner Properties
Some corner properties may qualify for more than one monument sign, even if they have a limited amount of
street frontage. A property that borders on more than one public street, but has less than 800 total feet of linear
frontage, is permitted to have one monument sign per street if the following criteria are met:
1. The property has a least 200 feet of frontage on each public street where a sign will be placed;
2. Each public street provides direct access to the property; and
3. For each separate street frontage Table 1 listed above shall be used to determine the design standards for
any proposed monument sign.
Non -Conforming Signs
Some properties that have a non -conforming sign permit may be able to reface or change the panels of existing
non -conforming signs provided the area, height, and location remain unchanged. For more information see
chapter 19.36 of the Tukwila Municipal Code.
