o Ad-hoc committee: Vision and mission statement
Commissioners Action Items: Commissioners to discuss and build out
2021 workplan. Examples include a presentation and discussion of
ongoing policies regarding disadvantaged businesses (DBE),
apprenticeship and local hire efforts on Public Works projects, stakeholder
engagement and joint meeting with the Planning Commission regarding
the Tukwila Pond Master Plan, ongoing Equity Policy implementation and
other potential workplan items. Commissioners to break into a smaller
ad-hoc group to establish a new mission and vision statement.
• 2021 ESJC budget discussion (30 min)
Commissioners Action Items: Discussion on how to spend ESJC funds
($4,800) in 2021.

• Eric Drever, Interim Police Chief introduced himself to the Equity and Social
Justice Commission. Commissioners had the opportunity to engage and ask
questions regarding policing in Tukwila.
• Juan Padilla, Human Resource Director was seeking input from the
Commissioners on characteristics of and priorities for the permanent Tukwila
Chief of Police.
• Commissioners approved an allocation of the ESJC budget funds in the amount of
$4,700.00 for the Tukwila School District's libraries in support of purchasing
culturally relevant, age appropriate and all-inclusive books.
• Commissioners agreed to work on the 2021 workplan and discuss the ESJC 2021
budget.

Community Oriented
October 8 — Chief's update regarding staffing, administrative leave, and vacancies. The Police
Policing Citizen's
Department and Court staff have moved into the Tukwila Justice Center. Interim Police Chief
Advisory Board
Drever shared with the Advisory Board regarding the Law Enforcement Training and
(COPCAB)
Community Safety Act (LETCSA). 1-940 passed last year — provides accountability and
credibility for law enforcement.
Planning Commission
November 12 — Public Hearing to consider updates to subdivision procedures in Tukwila
Municipal Code Title 17 (Subdivision and Plats) and Title 18 (Zoning) and Briefing on the
status of the Transit Oriented Development Housing Action Plan.
