All residential, multi -family, and commercial water consumption fees and base rates will increase in 2021/2022. King County's sewer treatment charges will increase in 2021 with no increase to the City's sewer rates. The surface water residential fees will increase from $190 to $194 in 2021 and to $204 in 2022, along with an increase for commercial properties. Council is being asked to approve the PW Fee Resolution. WHEREAS, each year the City analyzes the rate model forthe three utility enterprise funds, which are water, sewer and surface water, to ensure revenues keep pace with expenses, to update the traffic model, and to analyze th etransportation networkto ensure continued compliance with the Growth Management Act and the City's adopted Comprehensive Plan; and WHEREAS, the City is authorized to impose fees to recoup the costs of services rendered; and WHEREAS, per an Interagency Agreement, the City will have the King County Treasury Operations provide services for managing the City's surface water management database, include the City's surface water charges on ratepayers' King County property tax bill, and provide customer service related to those surface water charges; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. For multiplefamily and commercial/industrial accounts, there is a minimum charge of $47.37 per meter for up to 750 cubic feet of consumption plus $47.37 per each additional 750 cubic feet orfraction thereof.
