Roll Call: a. Board Members: Marie Parrish, Verna Seal, Cynthia Chesak, Scott Kruize, Linda McLeod, Steve Miller, Gerie Ventura b. Staff: Angelina Benedetti, KCLS / Stephanie Gardner-Brown, City of Tukwila 2. Approval of Agenda and Minutes – September 1, 2020 a. Minutes and agenda were accepted as written. 3. Public Comment – There were no public comments. 4. New Business (45 minutes) a. Little Free Library Stephanie reported that two Little Free Libraries were purchased. The Arts Commission is looking forward to partnering on this project in early 2021. b. Spirit of Giving Stephanie provided an overview of how the 2020 Spirit of Giving program will function. A drive through style event will be held for families. Staff are currently soliciting funds and items from businesses and individuals. This year’s event will have a great focus on basic household needs (groceries, home and hygiene items, coats for all kids, and STEM toys, art/craft toys, and toys that promote movement. A motion was made by Marie Parrish to contribute $2,000 towards the Spirit of Giving program, Linda Mcleod seconded the motion. All were in favor. 5. Reports a. KCLS: Angie Benetti informed the Board she has accepted an interim position with KCLS as the library’s Program Director. She also shared the library system is reorganizing regions and Tukwila will become part of the “Olympic Region.” b. City of Tukwila: Stephanie provided an overview of City operations and Parks and Recreation services being offered through November. 6. Other (10 minutes) 7.
