NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that sealed bids will be received by the City of Tukwila, Washington at the Office of the City Clerk, at Tukwila City Hall, 6200 Southcenter Boulevard, Tukwila, Washington 98188, up to the hour of 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, January 28, 2021. Due to issues associated with COVID-19 and social distancing, Tukwila City Hall is not open to the public. While bids can be mailed to Tukwila City Hall, a box will also be located outside the double doors at Tukwila City Hall near the flagpole for receipt of bids on the day of the bid opening. Bids will be picked up, with the last pickup being at exactly 9:31 a.m. on Thursday, January 28, 2021 based on the Atomic Clock in the City's Clerk's Office. Bids will be opened and publicly read aloud, via Microsoft Teams, by dialing (253) 292-9750, Conference ID: 473 658 756# at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, January 28, 2021 for: PUBLIC WORKS FLEET AND FACILITIES PROJECT PROJECT NO. PROJECT#91630601 CITY OF TUKWILA PUBLIC WORKS TUKWILA FLEET AND FACILITIES BUILDING — TENANT IMPROVEMENT Each bid shall be in accordance with the bid documents available free of charge on-line through Builders Exchange of Washington, Inc. at http://www.bxwa.com. Bidders are encouraged to "Register as a Bidder" in order to receive automatic e-mail notification of addenda and to be placed on the "Bidders List". This service is provided free of charge to Prime Bidders, Subcontractors and Vendors bidding this project. Informational copies of any available maps, plans, specifications, and subsurface information are on file for inspection in the office of the Tukwila City Engineer, at the Public Works Department. Proposals received later than the submittal deadline will not be accepted. All bid proposals shall be submitted according to the Information for Bidders and be accompanied by a bid proposal deposit in the form of a cash deposit, certified or cashier's check, postal money order, or surety bond made payable to the City of Tukwila, for a sum not less than five percent (5%) of the amount of such bid, including sales tax. Should the successful bidder fail to enter into such contract and furnish satisfactory payment and performance bonds within the time stated in the specifications, the bid deposit/bond shall be forfeited to the City of Tukwila. CITY OF TUKWILA, Christy O'Flaherty, MMC, City Clerk Project Description: The Tenant Improvement project includes the following work: Construction of the City of Tukwila Public Works - Tukwila Fleet and Facilities Building located at 11210 Tukwila International Blvd., Tukwila, WA 98168. The project encompasses renovation of existing building for City of Tukwila Public Works. 40,500 SF, renovations to include: seismic upgrades to existing structure, MEP upgrades to meet code requirements, office tenant improvement, locker rooms and showers, parts storage, shops and vehicle maintenance bays. Construction Schedule: Notice To Proceed (NTP) to be issued by on or around March 15, 2021. Substantial Completion October 11, 2021. Optional Pre -Bid Site Meeting: The Project site is available for inspection by prospective bidders at an optional pre-bid site meeting and walk-through. Project Team will be following the current Washington State Department of Labor and Industries (www.Lni.wa.gov/safety-health) current guidelines for construction and will limit site tour size to 10 people or less. Please keep prospective construction project teams to ONE person per trade. Any prospective bidders can attend ONE of the following meetings at 11210 Tukwila International Blvd., Tukwila, WA 98168: 10:00 am on January 14, 2021 2:OOpm on January 18, 2021 9:00 am on January 19, 2021 These dates will be the only scheduled opportunity for bidders to visit the project site with project staff. Safety and COVID Protocol Plans: Prior to the issuance of the Notice to Proceed, the Contractor will be required to submit to the Owner a copy of its company safety program and COVID Protocols. See Modifications to the General Conditions, Part 5 for details. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive as an informality any irregularities in the bids received.
