• Rachel Bianchi, City Deputy Administrator — Update on the City of
Tukwila's Permanent Police Chief recruitment process.
• Discuss, review and approve the final mission statement (20 min)
o Ad-hoc committee report on the ESJ mission statement
Commissioners Action Items: Commissioners will review and approve the
final ESJC mission.
• Discuss and select ESJC training facilitator and 2021 (20 min)
Commissioners Action Items: Approve ESJC training and facilitator.
• Discuss the 2021 ESJ Budget and next steps. (20 min)

• Review the final Foster High School ESJC recruitment fliers. (15 min)

• Commissioners, guest and staff checked in and debriefed on individual projects
for work.
• Commissioners reviewed and discussed the two draft mission statements. The Ad-
hoc committee was tasked to convene one more time to word smith and align the
mission statement with the commissioner training.
• Commissioners reviewed the Foster High School ESJC recruitment flier and
requested two draft examples that include less verbiage, is eye-popping and if
feasible offer a QFR code for students that heavily rely on smart phone.
• Commissioners and guest discussed cultural events for the City of Tukwila with an
emphasis that all cultural events must be inclusive and representative ofTukwila's
diverse community. Commissioners agreed to collaborate with Tukwila Children's
Foundation and City staff to begin planning for the Juneteenth event.

January 27, 2021—The Arts Commission is working on the Ignition NW Art installations and
identifying options for art installations in Tukwila Parks; The Southcenter District Art, Baker
Blvd is complete and a videographer has been brought on to document the project; The
Utility Box Art Program allowed for art design on the City of Tukwila's utility boxes at Baker
Blvd and Andover Park E.

February 11, 2021— Advisory Board approved January meeting minutes, Interim Police Chief
