Remote Meeting per Governor Proclamation 20-28 February 8, 2021 — 9:11 P.M.
MINUTES
SPECIAL MEETING
This meeting was conducted remotely, with the City Council, Mayor, and staff off-site and participating
via a remote electronic system.
All participants, including the Mayor, Councilmembers, City staff, and legal counsel were not at Tukwila
City Hall and participated via a remote electronic system.
The phone number for public participation that was provided via the agenda distribution process was: I-
253-292-9750, access code 670077847# as well as a link to join the Microsoft Teams Meeting.
CALL TO ORDER
Mayor Ekberg called the remote Special Meeting of the Tukwila City Council to order at 9:11 p.m. directly
following the Committee of the Whole meeting.
ROLL CALL
Andy Youn, Deputy City Clerk, called the roll of the Council. Present at the virtual meeting were
Councilmembers Verna Seal, Kathy Hougardy, De'Sean Quinn, Kate Kruller, Thomas McLeod, Zak Idan,
Cynthia Delostrinos Johnson.
CITY OFFICIALS
Allan Ekberg, Mayor; David Cline, City Administrator; Rachel Bianchi, Deputy City Administrator; Stacy
Hansen, Human Services Coordinator; Joel Bush, Senior Technology Integration Manager; Laurel
Humphrey, Legislative Analyst; Andy Youn, Deputy City Clerk.
CONSENT AGENDA
Authorize the Mayor to sign a contract with King County for the Minor Home Repair Program, in the
amount of $100,000 (using Community Development Block Grant funds to be distributed between 4
cities). [Reviewed and forwarded to Consent by the Community Services and Safety Committee on
211121.]
MOVED BY SEAL, SECONDED BY IDAN THAT THE CONSENT AGENDA BE APPROVED AS
SUBMITTED. MOTION CARRIED 7-0.
