City of Tukwila E-Hazelnut Newsletter August 2019 Another major milestone for the Tukwila Justice Center Quick Links City of Tukwila Website City Employment Opportunities Fall 2019 Activities Guide TukTV View the video on YouTube On Thursday, August 8, 2019 the City of Tukwila's Justice Center project met a major milestone by beginning pouring the building's concrete floors. Known in the industry as the slab on grade pour, most of what will be the first floor of the City's Police Department was poured. By the end of day Wednesday, August 14th, two-thirds of the building's floors were poured, with only the court area to be finished the week of the 19th. The slab required dozens of cement trucks, a large boom that pumped the concrete around the site and dozens of concrete experts working in concert to lay, level Tukwila Elected Officials and smooth hundreds of yards of concrete. Down the road when the building is closer to completion, the floors will be Mayor: Allan Ekberg polished and sealed, providing architectural-grade concrete coloring throughout all uncarpeted areas in the building. Each candidate for City office participated, recording a two-minute statement. These were compiled into the voter's guide video, which is introduced by the City's summer interns from Foster High School. This year's general election will be held on November 5.
