Winter 2016 Activities Guide
Bring your ideas to the TIB Community Workshop. We'll be

making choices on where to put stores, housing, and offices;
how high to allow buildings; how much parking should be
provided and where it should be located. We'll also look at
the need for new private or public parks, streets or walkways,
or other public facilities.

A team of consultants will advise and discuss with you the
choices and the trade-offs, and how to transition from
existing conditions to a new neighborhood. Visit the City's web

neighborhood goals a reality.
The Tukwila Community Center turns 20!
Help us celebrate 20 years of building community through
people, parks, and programs throughout the month of
February!
February 1
TCC Open House & FREE Spaghetti Dinner - 5pm-7pm
Celebrate the Tukwila Community and the people, programs,
and patrons that have contributed to the facility's
success. From 5:00pm - 7:00pm, all fitness classes and the
fitness room will be free. Staff will be on hand to share
information about youth, teen, senior, and volunteer
programs. Several partners, such as Human Services, Global to
Local and Forterra will also be on hand to share opportunities
for Tukwila residents. A FREE community style spaghetti
dinner will be offered throughout the evening as
well. Finally, there will also be fun give-a-ways, membership
specials, and more.
February 8
Volunteer Appreciation Ice Cream Social - 5pm-7pm
Free Throw Competition - 5pm-8pm
We love our Tukwila Volunteers! An annual volunteer
appreciation event and ice cream social for those that
volunteer in the City - past, present and future volunteers
welcome.
Support 20 years of basketball by supporting the HERO
Scholarship Fund! $5 suggested donation per shooter - all are
welcome. Donation sheets will be handed out to all youth
basketball participants and will be available at the front desk
at the Community Center. Please call 206-768-2822 for more
information.
February 14
I Love Tukwila Week - All Week
Show your love for Tukwila Parks and Recreation by
participating in a photo selfie contest, pick up a LOVE Tukwila
sticker and contribute to spontaneous art projects at the
Tukwila Community Center throughout the week.
February 25
HERO Gala - 5pm-7pm
An evening social to celebrate the people that have
contributed to making the Tukwila Community Center a
successful facility for our community. There will be music,
stories, small bites and cheer. A limited number of tickets
are available ($20 per person), attendees must be 21 years or
older. All proceeds, after costs, will benefit the HERO
scholarship fund.
Free tax preparation and filing help
available
Tax help is available in your neighborhood and in your
language from IRS-certified volunteers. Now through April 20,
2017, United Way of King County is providing free tax
preparation and access to the Earned Income Tax Credit and
other tax credits. The best news: No appointment needed and
no fees to pay.
Free tax experts will help qualifying households that make
less than $64,000 maximize refunds to keep more of their
hard-earned money and avoid paying unnecessary fees for
commercial tax preparation and "rapid refund" loans.

What to bring - required:
* Social Security card/ITIN letters for everyone on the return
* Photo ID
* All tax statements (W-2 form, 1099 form, SSA-1099 form,
etc.)
* Health insurance forms 1095-A, 1095-B, or 1095-C
Recommended:
* Bank account number and routing number
* A copy of last year's tax return
