The City of Tukwila Fall Cleanup Event takes place on December 2nd In partnership with Waste Management, the City of Tukwila's Cleanup Event allows residents to drop off hard to dispose of items such as electronic waste, scrap metal, large appliances, furniture, cardboard boxes and yard waste. The event will take place at two locations this year. Church by the Side of the Road at 3455 South 148th St, and the Tukwila Community Center. Items will be accepted from 8:30am to 3:30pm. Identification and proof of residency is required. You can view the event flyer for a detailed list of accepted items. Interested in serving on a Board or Commission? The City needs you! The City of Tukwila is assisted in its operations in several areas by the volunteers who serve on our Boards and Commissions. Volunteers serve an important function by offering their time and expertise as members. Anyone interested in serving on a Board or Commission can complete an application and submit it to City Hall. Applications are reviewed and appointments are made by the Mayor and confirmed by the Ci ty Council. There are currently vacant positions on the following Boards and Commissions: Civil Service Commission: Position 1 is mid-term and expires 2021. Position 2 expires 2023 COPCAB: 1 opening for a community member Equity & Diversity: 1 opening for Education or Community member Human Services Advisory Board: 1 opening for a Business member The positions are open until filled, but a first review of applicants will happen on December 26, 2017 .
