The City recently studied the green truss bridge over the
Duwamish River on 42nd Ave. S. The analysis showed that
freight vehicles speeds need to be reduced to ensure it
remains open for public use and travel. In order to maximize
Tukwila Elected Officials
the life of the bridge, the following changes will be made:
Mayor:
Allan Ekberg
Speeds of freight vehicles crossing the bridge will be
reduced from 25mph to 15mph
City Council:
Verna Seal (Council President)
Dennis Robertson
Reduced weight loads for double truck and trailer
Kathy Hougardy
type vehicles will be enforced
De'Sean Quinn
Kate Kruller
Thomas McLeod
You will notice new signs on the bridge in the coming days
Zak Idan
with these new restrictions posted. Please note, this speed
reduction is only for semi-trucks and freight hauling vehicles.
It will not affect cars, pickups, and SUV's owned by the
general public.
