Project Location: State Route 518 right-of-way. Individual boring
and potholing locations are circled in black in the image at left.
Project Description: This project proposes to do sampling for the
Sound Transit 1-405 Bus Rapid Transit Project for approximately
10-16 nights between the nighttime hours of 9:00 PM and 5:00
AM. Eleven (11) geotechnical borings and six (6) utility potholes
are proposed. Each geotechnical boring uses an auto -hammer
which makes a loud steel clang with each blow, with a maximum
of 50 blows lasting up to one minute. Utility potholing requires
use of a vacuum truck, jackhammer and air compressors.
